    Pretty sure uwm or Unix Window Manager or something like that had pie menus as well.

    I don't get this? How does that enable you to tell who has paid?

    I understand what contrast is and contrast ratios and everything.

    Perhaps I should have said "..the quoted contrast ratios.." in that the numbers supplied by the manufacturers are largely meaningless, as you often don't know how the contrast was measured, or any other conditions etc.

    The monitor from apple at 800:1 could be just as contrasty as a 1500:1 screen, unless the user takes care to control ambient light etc etc and/or the Apple screen was measured with a matrix pattern rather than full white/black change.

    Or the latter monitor could genuinely be capable of a greater dynamic range, but the point is you rearely can find out the details of his, unless you are looking at highend pro monitors.

    Unless one is using the display in a 100% pitch black room, contrast ratios are largely meaningless and over inflated by many manufacturers.

    Totally spot on. But as long as the input form has some instructions it's neither here nor there e.g. I didn't know till now apparantly

    But how would I configure this FRONT/BACK swapping on an Ubuntu install ?

    GigE switches are no more expensive here than a 100MB switch. (Consumer equipment wise),obviously if you go for Cisco or whatever that's mega bucks, but for a regualt home user you can get GigE (1000MB) switches for like 20 GBP or something silly.

    Never used one yet, but if it's anything like normal linux, the samba config will be in /etc/samba/smb.conf

    Edit this file with a text editor and change the workgroup value.

    press the source button to cycle throught the vid sources. On my 25" trinitron i have 2 s vids sources (indicated by an S-> on screen ) one is the round port at the front (source 3) and the other is my 2nd scart (source 2)

    I would think that if you didn't have this then the answer would be no.
