    um. Gnome has always been more Mac like especially since Gnome2. I actually used Gnome long before OSX and when I used OSX for the first time a couple of years ago i said "Damn, this Mac OSX is just like gnome!". Menu locations, dialog boxes, buttons etc all are heavily influened by OSX as far as i can tell

    at least its a differentiation of Linux and Distro. As in Ubuntu is not Linux. Really? Try telling (most) Ubuntu users. When somebody on the internet claims 'their Linux i not working' I'd say the odds are good that they are running Ubuntu.

    Where I stay in the UK, we don't have cable or a MacDonalds, and I doubt we ever will. This is in 2009. 20 miles away from the nearest town. In fact if I want a MacDonalds I'd have to travel 100miles to the nearest city. And probably the same If i wanted to watch catv.

    Ughhh - Kitchen Nightmares USA - shudder.

    As a brit, watching that reminds me of all the is bad about US TV. It's over produced, badly edited, misconstrued action (for dramatic effect), constant 'dramatic' sound track, 'dramatic' voice over, all about the confrontational aspect....

    Compare to the UK version and as you say, it's more about the business, more 'factual' there's no dramatic voice-over providing unneeded 'tension'.

    It reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer 'grabs her can' gummi venus de milo, or something.

    It's kind of like the functionality provided by apt-get, but only you have to pay for everything. And it's shiny.

    Dutch? I was in Belgium for a few months and it took a while for me to cotton on to the TV adverts that annouced web sites with what sounds like 'vey vey vey dot etc etc' I thought that was quite neat.
