I cant use it for 10 min without it crashing. what stinks I cant get ie to run with the address bar and menus showing up either. BUt atleast with ie7 if i click the windows update link i can use it that way. With firefox 2.0 I cant use it at all.
I am going to wait till vista comes installed on the machine until I buy a new computer. That way I know the machine can handle it.
Also upgrading my current pc to vista is not worth it.
This is why I will get an engagement ring through Www.justmetal.com
They are made of titanium (if you really want gold you can get it ) and are really good looking but cost a lot cheaper then a normall engagement ring.
Why pay for a diamond if you can get something better looking for much cheaper.
Deep freeze is better you dont have to ghost the machines.also with deepfreeze and an wsus server you can have the computer unfreeze say at 2am install the updates and refreeze itself again. You can even have it do this with the keyboard locked on the computer.
Deepfreeze will revert back to the way the machine was after the last time it was unfrozen after a reboot. just like if you were to reimage it with an image.
Thats why you use deep freeze. Its like restoring an image after every reboot. Does the same thing as reimaging the computer without the hassle of sending an image over the network or doing it manually.
Deepfreeze is not your typical security program.
It embeds itself in your isntalation and cannot be forcefully removed without knowing the password. Even in safemode. If you dont unfreeze the computer before doing anything when you restart it will go back to the image.
If you delete the deepfreeze driver file without uninstalling it you will screw up the system and have to reboot and it will go right back to the image again.
With deep freeze you can set it so that at a specific time it boots up unfrozen so you can use wsus and install updates then you can set it so that it reboots frozen again at another time
This program is great and dont let people who know nothing about it give you false information. i run it on my network and its an awesome program .
you just have to remember to unfreeze the computer when you install something.
Also look up winu . We use that program too and that with group policy, and deep freeze and the computers are practically locked down.
Couple of things
Group Policy IS a god send
Look into a program called deep freeze. IT makes it so if the computer gets screwed up like hacked into or a virus then you reboot the comp and it goes right back to what it was.
Make sure that under no circumstances any student has administrator privaleges.
BUt my main suggestion is group policy. You can even block instalation of unwanted programs like aim through group policy.
The problem is not very many companies and programs stay good.
Firefox people are geting big heads and are getting sloppy.
With firefoxes memroy holes. Also on my machine ff 2.0 rc3 crashes every 5 minutes so i am stuck using ie7 or opera.
Microsoft can only start to get better.
Maybe i am the only one having this problem but with firefox 2.0 rc3 it crashes every 5 min on me. that is unusable. I hope it gets fixed for the final revision.
Why do I need my tv to do this. All you have to do is have the scheduler pop up a txt message at a certain time telling you to start the laundry.
If you then have the comp connected to your tv it will then do that.
The computer can do most of this anyway why do I need other devices to do the same thing. They should work on having appliances use less electricity,I don't care if they can speak to me or anything like that.
Wasn't there just recently a report by nasa stating the ozone hole was shrinking and by a certain year it will be gone? Now they are saying its the biggest one ever?
Why is evertybody saying this is a good thing. This could be very bad. A virus or any malware that disguises itself as an antivirus would not be detected by anti virus programs.
ITs actually very clever. Your machine would be infected and you might not even know it. Especially if you normally run kapersky.
I don't think this is a big deal. Nintendo even has a patent for a gameboy combined with a cellphone but of course their was no press on that no was there.
use the extra power to make your network stabe.
University networks can have huge flucuations in usage. You might need that extra pwoer a year or two down the road. say if the university accepts more students then they normally do one year.
You can never really have extra power. It will be used at some point.
I am a network tech at a librayr and Some of these might work for you .
1. Each student gets enough webspace so that they can use it to maybe backup reports and other files on it.
2. make sure you have enough programs that students might not normally have.
like photoshop and programs like that.
also email and general server stuf can take up more rescources then you think:)
I have not had a single problem with any of the dell servers that I have worked with. We have dell servers here that have been running for a year plus with not a single hardware problem.
I dont have any experience with hp servers but I have experience with compaq servers and they stunk.
Also we have hp procurve switches that You cant bring their web interface up on and forget trying to do a vlan on them.
Your right.
epecially at the ages they are mentioning. Autism is by birth. If something causes autism then they child is not autistic and i would say more of hyperactive.
I have this $60 dollar surround sound receiver wich I bought from walmart(it was onsale for like 1 month ) . All devices should work this way .
If I turn the power off by the remote it goes into standby. If I turn the power off from the unit itself it shuts off completely.
All devices should do that. This way it gives u a choice.
Well if Nintendo keeps releasing games like club hosue games.
This game will get anybody to want a ds. It ahs 42 games lieks solitaire, dominoes, poker, chess.
They will continue to get the big sales if they keep making games like this:)
Why are you saying this.
Basically you are saying microsoft is not allowed to make a secure OS. THen you go on to say that people should move to linux because microsoft is not allowed to make a secure OS?
Thats just stupid.
So you are blaming a problem on vista that qtparted caused?
I ran gparted to install vista and gtparted hozed my whole system it covieniently forgot to move all the files over and hozed my whole system.
So dont go blaming vista right away when it could have been qtparteds fault.
I cant use it for 10 min without it crashing. what stinks I cant get ie to run with the address bar and menus showing up either. BUt atleast with ie7 if i click the windows update link i can use it that way. With firefox 2.0 I cant use it at all.
he stated that the people he supports use dial up. that is not very good to use on dial up.
I am going to wait till vista comes installed on the machine until I buy a new computer. That way I know the machine can handle it. Also upgrading my current pc to vista is not worth it.

I am pretty sure the core 2 duos have 64 bit support.

Obviously you dont keep up to date on things on November 1st it will be released on windows update
