So true - On the VX8100 phones, a long time ago they upgraded them to enable the on phone mp3 player by default.....
Guess what the newest upgrades do?
Disable it to 'make it easier for the customer, instead of using a PC and transfering those messy files to memory card they can just buy the music on the phone using get it now' is what the repair guy told me.
How hard would it have been to have both features?:/
... as simple as going into the service menu and turning the mp3 player back on.
" Basically, rated battery life should be used as a guide and never be taken literally. "
And WHO here, is the idiot that went out and bought an electronic device wanting to get exactly the same battery life in their own usage as the advertized 'normal' or 'optimal' usage pattern?
iBook G4.
Want battery life out of something cool and useful?:)
I get about 5-6 hours a charge, varying backlight levels, usage IN school, lasts me pretty much teh whole day (Might hve to charge it during band or something if i don't leave it in the night before)
OS X Heavily passes off GUI work to the graphics card...
You use an OSX machine that dosn't have AGP, and than an equivalent WITH, and tell me it dosn't.
(Even with the quartz extreme pci hack on!)
Quite, I play my commdore 64 through my AIW card all the time, and I used to use my gamecube with it before I had a tv in my room.
there's no delay whatsoever
I've been reading about MythTV, but was wondering, besides the bog standard DVR usage, what other usage people get out of it?
Do you jack your game systems into it and record plays for later use?:)
Do you play with vintage computers, and record demos?
Do you have it record directly into an ipod compatable format? (can it do that?)
What unique things can this system do?
I accumulate on average 1-2GB of data a day (Thank you coffee shop w/free wireless!:D pounces my cellular conn any day!)
It pinched my wallet to get enough to -store- it
I'll probably set up a 4 + 4 = 4 array somehow, I'll either need a super raid card (anyone know of one?) or a second card and software mirroring... i'd like a super card so I can rebuild using the card itself in case of a drive failure, but I suppose a simple dd would work to restore (or whatever linux offers for this, havn't researched it)
Okay, why is this modded troll again? He misunderstood the direction of the backups, he wasn't trolling! If anything, it's -1 WRONG, not troll!
Anyway - he backs up data FROM DVDs and CDs, not TO
I've been using JFS for about two months now, and it's been quite a plesant experiance with my anime storage.
I run it on a 1.6TB array, four 400GB harddrives. It's preformance is damn fast from what I've observed copying too/from a JFS firewire drive. I trust it enough to keep data that I can't back up on it until I can get another identicle array to mirror with - only drive failure will seem to kill this FS, and these drives are about ~3 months old, so failure isn't that much of a concern anymore.
I'd reccomend it for storage, havn't tried it as a system FS yet.
Not really - the TV signal is analog, the internet is digital... and as for digital tv, it's digital signals sent at many different frequancies - i might be wrong on this though, but that seems about right.

The founding fathers, terrorists?
I might not be able to answer that, but let me just refer you to my british friend here...
Can i have some free good karma? ;)
On the ipod, they're right on the front wheel...
That is the best slashdot user name i've EVER seen
Gotta make sure it's really the original licensed copy!
can't play any of those MODIFIED UNLICENSED copies!

This was a funny, not a troll.... Who uses such ANCIENT and USELESS languages anyway! :D
"They changed the number of CDs you are "allowed" to burn for each song, and the number of computers you are "allowed" to have each song on."
I'm sick and tired of hearing that.
They changed the number of times you can burn a specific playlist. Delete + recreate OR slightly modify and the burn counter is reset. PLZKTHXBYE

Might have been half way down the list when I was looking for tech podcasts...

One true ring!
one of the big factors in japanese suicides is the competitiveness and pressure placed on the students in the schooling system.

the post was meant as a joke :)
I've looked, but they seem to miss this important feature annoucement, or does it just lack? Does it run on windows?

You could be like my college, and get a huge pallet of Microsoft optical scroll mice for the PowerMac lab ....
