    I wish they would include an auto update feature. I hate having to go to fifty different company's websites to see if they've released a new version of their software or driver. That's one thing MS got right. Firefox did it too.

    If they implemented this, I'd occasionally sit through commercials just so I can do this. If advertisers could make better commercials, maybe I wouldn't be so inclined to skip them, or at least not be as annoyed when watching live TV.

    Wow, you missed the point entirely. We're talking about people who use Windows on Dell-type computers dealing with spyware. He suggests buying Tiger as an alternative to buying a new Dell. I pointed out that his idea was stupid, because what is a Dell owner going to do with a Tiger CD. They'd have to buy the whole computer, which is going to be at least $500.

    Beside, I thought they were going to start the x86 line with the version after Tiger.

    Also, if a user runs an untrusted binary, it can't do anything that their account can't do. If you setup sudo right, it will ask for their password, and they should know that something's wrong if the lima bean recipe program they downloaded is asking for root access.

    So if it costs more in energy costs to produce than is saved over the course of their lifetime, when is that extra energy paid for?

    That's basically the whole point of the argument. People will still buy solar because it's supposedly better for the environment, without investigating it. It's entirely possible for them to sell them this way.

    Joe's looking for an answer, not a question. He doesn't know what the 1.00 at the beginning of line means either. And even if he does, it's wrong anyway. I'd hardly call that validated.

    I think it's more likely that people won't bite even if it does taste exactly the same as real meat. It's just not the same in most people's eyes. As for me, I'll eat it if it's cheaper or significantly better tasting. I also have to be able to grill it.

    What's really sad is the US Air Force paid two of those companies to each teach me the same class (CCNA.) I was rather disgusted with the whole process, considering I told my supervisors to send someone who wasn't already capable of passing the test.

    I just downloaded 3.1 and PHPEclipse with this announcement, and it's worked fine for me for two days now. Although I'm new to Eclipse so maybe there's a ton of features I just don't know about that aren't working.

    1) It has happened, better safe than sorry.

    2) Again, better safe than sorry. I'd rather have AP ammo and not need it than need it and not have it. Proactively ordering it before you need it is the safest way to go. If you're in hurricane territory, do you wait until one's an hour away before you buy bottled water? No, you buy it at the start of hurrican season (if you're smart.)

    3) Many people would want your Weatherby to be considered AP, and banned for that reason. Those people scare me. I don't mind it being called that myself, but I also feel that AP or not, you have an inalienable right to have and carry it.

    I'll leave you with one last thought, sure to cause quite a stir (if anyone reads down this far): Would 9/11 have happened if any and all passengers could have pulled a gun on the hijackers? The hijackers might have tried, but they'd certainly have been stopped.

    If everyone had a gun and knew how to use it, no one would throw a temper tantrum with it. They'd know they would be shot if they did. It would be a pretty good deterrent.
