I've noticed the same thing. Scanned slide/print photos have a horrible amount of grain in them. I'd have to scan at max resolution and then downsample them to get it to look decent. On the other hand, the shots from my old 3 megapixel camera were always sharp at the max resolution.
I can see how this would apply to elective procedures, but in most cases it's out of the question. Whenever people are sick or seriously injured they want to be treated immediately, and aren't going to go hop on a 14 hour flight to india/thailand or wherever.
Even the thought of sitting on a long plane ride a month after a major surgery dosen't sound like much fun to me.
I think we are going to see the clock go away, replaced with "Data Ready" lines, which will also help heavily in determining the bottlenecks in a given system (Hint: it's the system that is taking the longest to put up the "Data Ready" flag).
Exactly:)
I took a class on asynchronous logic design this semester. Pretty interesting stuff. (prof is quoted in this article:)
It's still not widely accepted yet, but it does have alot of advantages over synchronous circuits.

Did you know that if you took all the spammers in the world and lined them up end to end around the equator of the earth that two thirds of them would drown?
Yeah, and the rest will probably get malaria. cool.:)
I remember years ago playing syndicate, and those little soldier guys running around through crowded streets and spraying everyone in sight with bullets from their miniguns. I had a part time job at disneyland and would imagine shooting all the crowds of annoying "guests". Of course I never actually did any of that, but I can see how playing video games for hours on end would affect your thoughts about the real world.
I think the concept behind the solar sail depends on the solar wind (ions streaming from the sun) and not the radiation pressure of the photons. (however the spinning globe thingie works:) )

Forget the army, they need sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads!
Yes, bittorrent is much better. :D
News flash, Apple products are not "cheap". They're charging $400 for an ipod that probably costs them $50 to make.
I heard they're going to get $1 for every brain tumor.

Hmm, that sounds like something you'd see at the spearmint rhino.
Hmm, F16's maybe? :)
I think it's kind of sad that I actually got that joke. lol. :D

Umm, maybe you've never heard of eric rudolph http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Rudolph or Irving Rubin? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irving_Rubin

hmm, how exactly would you fit a phone with a 12" display in your pocket? ;)
