Oh God, another Texan, why do we keep on sending people like him, GWB and Tom Delay to Washington? Being a Texan myself, I don't think all of us share the same view as those fools. But somehow we keep on electing those idiots!
Major Internet Service Providers started to claim that no company should profit from their network and demand extra charges from ABC. The spokesperson for the major ISPs said "These major media companies, they are bleeding us dry with their contents! We have to make more money to survive"
Web 2.0 is the word you are going to hear in the staff meeting of IT department for years to come. Just call it what it is, a buzz word and nothing else. I can hear every CIO telling their drones "We need to build a site in this new age of 'Web 2.0' and proactively create synergy between our e-business and client". Granted, there are a lot of new development and trends going on, and things from ajax to user created contents are really going to change the way we view the web, that does not make the web to the stage of "2.0". For me, web is (hopefully) ever evolving, and it will just be THE web, with no version number attached at the end.
I would assume if you buy bulk (in case of Sony, BIG bulks), or make special deal with the hdd makers, it would be cheaper than the stand alone units you can get on the market.
From what I read at Gamespot, PS3 is coming out WORLDWIDE in Nov. before Thanksgiving, and it will come with blu-ray.
One thing I am not sure about is the 60gig HDD thing. The console will require it to play games but it may not come with the machine?! what kind of BS is that? It's the memory card crap all over again. They better not jackup the price for the HDD, it's only 60gig, and knowing $ony, it's gonna go for about 100 dollars!
Full auto was billed as one of "THE GAME" to get before 360 came out. I think I saw some preview on G4 showing the game, and the developer was bragging "Yah, this is only running on 1/4 of the actual 360 hardware, when the actual game comes out, it will be totally sick!" Sick my ass, I never trust the marketing people anyway (not even at my own company) and this is exactly the reason!
The 'official' reason for Chinese censorship is also to prevent the widespread of pornography? It's funny to see how governements use the oldest 'Would someone please think about the children' argument to justify information control. The easiest way to control the population is to control the information they have the access to, and the easiest way to control information is to use those bogus claim that "We know what's good for you, let us block out only the bad stuff so your kids will be safe from bad influences". And it's funny that the department of 'justice' is the last place we should look for justice today, it almost reminds me of the department of 'love'....
I am not sure how many people realize the historical context of these ships. These are the first true space ships, one of the earily milestones for space travel. Imagine, when space travel is as common as air travel today, when a flight to Mars is easy as a flight to China today or when Google actually establishes a moon base. How will we look back to these space shuttle? I dare say these shuttles maybe more important than the Wright brother's KittyHawks. Who knows, these shuttles may even (AND SHOULD) out live United States itself! We need to preserve these machines for the sake of history.
This reminds me of an article i read somewhere and it talked about the next generation of MMORPG where people would go online to watch a movie (stream) shopping (Amazon/eBay) using their avatars, and meet and social like they would in real life instead of yelling "LFG Emperor run1!!11". Walking down the virtual isle of amazon, hitting on another hot avatar and going to watch a movie at iTune theatre, is it really that hard to imagine?
Okay, it is, but who knows, when we turn 60, that maybe the social norm.
Nope, it won't, because even if it does, everyone will start using it and render it useless. There is only one trend in stock market that is backed up by statistics over long run and that is the stock market drifts upward overtime. My professor did a exmeripment using computer modeling, basically using a random number generator to decide if the stock market goes up or down, adding the 'upward drift' factor using historical data and comparing it to the actual data over last 75 yrs, and two data looks almost identical. I know it doesn't "prove" my point, but it does show that playing stock market short term is basically a flip of coin.
It's strange for you guys to think that China(or Chinese) has a single mind. Or even the Chinese government is somehow unified under the same ideology and the whole nation is being ruled by one central government.
What you don't hear about is the riots in the countryside and local government officials (mostly even more corrupted than the central officials) gathering warlord-like power and basically dickslap the orders/directives from the central government.
Chinese central government is not as strong as most people think and they really don't have the ability to control the nation as a whole anymore. Most of the resources have been focused on developing certain areas (major cities, and costal trading zones), and most people outside of those area are not recieving any benefit from the development. If you know Chinese history, you can say that history is repeating itself(separation to unity to separation again). When the difference between country and the city reaches a critical point, there will either be 1)major riot that effects the whole nation (making the Tiananmen Crisis looking like a child's play) or 2)China in a desperate move trying to shift the nations attention by starting something big (Military action against Taiwan/Pick a fight against someone like Japan) and use the nationalism it has been developing as a tool to save its own ass.
political stunt to earn some brownie points when he is up for the re-election, right? Such bill will never pass, just like the military draft bill a few years ago. It's nothing but a PR move so he can say "look, i tried this"
It's easy for us to say "Hell with China, let us all withdraw our money and see what they can do". That is such an American way to think, do you think they don't have major serch engine in Europe, South America or other parts of Asia? If U.S. withdraw their business from China, there will be a long line of business waiting to take our place. We will be only hurting ourselves and the problem will still exist.
Some will always say "well, we can't help the tyrants to achieve their goals", well, where were you when we supplied Iraqi and Iranian with US weapon and tech support? How much help are we currently providing with Pakistan, which is not exactly nice and peachy. Wake up kids, if we refuse to do business with everyone who doesn't meet our standard of moral, we shouldn't even be doing business with ourselves!
I think this can be a very interesting development in tech industry.
Remember the MS guy who jumped ship to google? And they had a huge court fight? How much trade value would he have fatched?
And can you imagine? the next block buster trade between rival companies, Steve Ballmer for ipod/itune? or steve job for office suite?
The possibility is simply endless, and at last, there is something in tech to compete with sports!

Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil who is standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours. You want to claim this land as the 'land of the free'? Then the symbol of your country cannot just be a flag. The symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Now show me that, defend that"
Google also announce a sponsor deal with the hit music group, ggg G Unit!

ISPs are demanding Microsoft to pay extra fee to use internet as a delivery method of their service.. ..
Don't you mean 80% of the mass murders are honda drivers?
if 80% of the hondar drivers are mass murders, we won't have much of a population left.

Oh god, you have to bring that up.. ..
I had three boot disks
1) Everyday operation
2) Normal gaming
3) Maxed out memory config
Good News, everybody!

Oh, I watched the direct to video sequel for some strange strange reason, and it was a BAD idea! That movie would make Doom look Oscar worthy

How many women work(ed) in the mines, served on the front, hunted for the family food, etc.? How many men do you know hunt for the family food?
