I'm not sure about anywhere else in the world, but in the city I live in [in SK, Canada] we have a high-school that offers Machining and a school that offers Plastics. Generally you can go to the school and get what you need done [assuming you can do the CAD side of it yourself]
Just go to the school and see if they have any students looking to make a bit a cash.:-)
What I am wondering is about seek time... with that many drives, and that much 'virtual' space [assuming this is on some form of RAID] what would the average seek time be?
Over the last few weeks I've been using SSH a lot. I'm pretty sure I haven't really used my main system for a few days now, I've been doing it all via SSH on my new machine/web-server. Why, just in the last few hours I've installed & configured MySQL, SQLite, Pure-ftpd and Postfix via SSH and nano.
All these new-fangled Control Panels can kiss my shiny metal ass!
My youngest brother is a Flash animator [mostly for fun -- but he want's to be an Animator when he finishes high school]
There have been numourous times he's sent me a.swf file asking if I liked it, and it sometimes works but most of the time only certain parts of the animation work [ever export an advanced Flash 7 file as a GIF image? -- same thing here]
The problem here is that all he needed to do was export for a lower version. Honestly, in most cases, you can export as Flash 6 and still maintain intended functionality... It's just that people don't understand that not everyone can view Flash 8 files.
I know this is a little late in the discussion, but I did a quick search on the page and couldn't find anything about patch files.
Would this affect any small source-based distro's that use patches on top of the original source files? [sort of like Gentoo, 'cept they aren't small]
Lately I've been thinking about building a small distro based on Gentoo or even just "roll your own" for my self. If I intend on releasing it to the public [I am still uncertain] would patch sets be the easiest route if I were to need to actually modify any code[it will be a source-based distro]?
May I ask why not GD? It's pretty mature and very usable in PHP. Most installations around the globe include GD2 so would it not be a more viable solution [especially if it's an open source project]?
I had the exact same problem! Except I went ahead and bought the nForce version of the board [ASUS A8N-VM CSM] it's just a home testing server that I didn't want to put too much money into. Things seem to be running smoothly since the 1st.
P.S. - Anyone in Canada looking for a motherboard? I still have the board that did not work. Heard it works okay with Windows or use an IDE drive... Asking $50 canadian dollars + shipping used for about a day.. Socket 939.
...latest reality show, WHO WANTS TO MARRY A MIDGET MILLIONAIRE APPRENTICE?
I still prefer the one from College University:
"Who Want's To Live on the Real Survivor Idol Millionare Island Dance and Chili Cookoff!"

I really like metapad when I am stuck with Windows[mostly at school]
I can't stand syntax highlighting. Although, I think that is mostly because it looks terrible and is mostly unreadable when you use a dark background.:-)
Even if I personally am unfamiliar with (and don't use) Linux, I believe in competition. Hence I won't be buying a Lenovo, or any other brand that refuses to support Linux.
Most companies do not "support" Linux [in the sense of help via telephone or e-mail support]
So your choices for a laptop manufacturer are pretty slim to nil.
I don't know if you know anything about Skills... but:
In my competition we do not have access to any outside network.
We are on a local intranet and only have access to the web server that we are to develop the project on.
There is a time limit of 13 hours. You have no access to any reference material and you really have to work your ass off.
There were 18 competitors in total. Secondary and Post-secondary competitors.
I placed 2nd... in a National-wide competition.

Fuck, it's people like you that piss me off.
Isn't the Boeing 767 the same type of plane that was flown into the WTC buildings?
Oh, so you mean pull a Microsoft?
... sorry. I just HAD to. :-)
*looks around*
*slowly and uneasily raises right hand*
I LOVE NANO! [for simple editing, anyway ;-)]

Perhaps it is because, as he_humeister mentioned, that they are losing money in the area.
:-)
I also think it may be because of the nice tight relationship with Intel now-a-days... Just a thought.

I love the improvements they make on a weekly basis.

I can upgrade my igloo to a super-strong ice/glassy material! I can't wait to tell my friends!
hehe... I love how this got modded "1, Insightful"
On a side note: this is cool they managed to get a fairly clear video of this... however, why'd they convert it to a GIF image? [ewww..]
You can write plugins for the google homepage!? ZOMFG! were R my PoNiZ!?
