    I'd always assumed that they used one of those email to fax setups. They would be a lot easier to use than digging up an old fax/modem or, heaven forbid, an actual fax machine.

    Are you sure the 18 year old couldn't care less? Way back when I worked at a convenience store nobody messed up on the ID check twice. This was because you were fired after the first violation. It wasn't much of an issue, however, as once the reputation spread that we always carded, the minors left for easier pickings elsewhere.

    Sounds pretty accurate to me. The self serving attitude of libertarians usually results in the type of temper tantrum you displayed when exposed to reality, so we aren't surprised at that either. Especially those of us who have raised young children.

    Most pirated software of this nature has been modified to bypass serial number checks, etc. If you can detect any modification to the program, then they cannot do this bypassing without also finding the check-summing code and fixing it also.

    I did something like this may years ago in a specialized PCB CAD program. In addition to the normal security check the program would apply a small scaling factor to the file when exported for board design. Everything appeared to work correctly, but anyone who tried to fab a board with a pirated copy would learn an expensive lesson.

    I just saw an add in the local paper for a 3rd party backup camera for forty bucks. I would imaging that it would cost considerably less to build one in when you already have the wiring harness, LCD panel, etc in place.

    Well, Hilaries kind of upset that her rule breaking might cost her her job, but I really don't waste my time when crooks complain about getting caught. I've raised two kids, and am immune to the whining.

    the fact that nobody knows about them means that they are pretty much useless. You can print all the government secrets in the world, and if the only person who reads them is you mom after you slide it our under your door, they are still pretty much still secret.

    since having your diplomats act as spies is a no-no, he is right that she's lost any effectiveness. Of course, there are a lot of individuals who think that ethical behavior is a bad thing, but their words are relatively unimportant.
