Yeah, but WTH??? I thought it was supposed to be an "academy days" movie, or at least something that took place before the original series. And they get Gary Sinese? Don't get me wrong, I like Gary Sinese, but isn't he a little old to play an academy noob? He's 50 something years old. Just for reference, DeForest Kelley was 46 at the start of TOS (Shatner was 35, Damon is 36).

True, true, usually there is some hand-waving about supporting roads and health care costs but I think the accounting out the other end says different. At least in this case, they TELL you the tax rates. Anybody here know the tax rates for gasoline in their city/state? Here, I think it's around 15%, but I can't find info on it anywhere.

That almost sounds like a linux release, but the key thing missing in all linux versions is a stable and always-there set of GUI tools so applications can run on the OS itself. linux (IMO) is crippled by that lack of a standard GUI layer. It does have a standard GUI - three of them in fact. Don't think of them as "not a standard", think of them as options. In Windows, you get just one option - Microsoft's. In Linux, you get more than one. If you don't like GNOME, switch to KDE. If those are too heavyweight, switch to XFCE. It's still the same operating system with the same applications and tools, just a different front end. Plus, have you looked at all the extra add-on crap with Windows now? WindowBlinds and ObjectDesktop changes the Windows desktop in large ways - where's your standard GUI there?

Yes, I know I'm arguing both sides of the fence, but in Linux, it's not as "non-standard" as you think, and in Windows it's not as "standard" as you think.

Interesting thing I noticed when scrolling through the guide linked above - the level of css support between IE6 and IE7 isn't all that different (maybe a handful of new items supported). So, IE7 was mainly a bugfix release. Five years and they finally fixed the CSS engine. Way to go MS.
