Yeah, it's not the Wii... but do you know that the motion control will be poor? The implementation actually sounded really cool with games like Lair. While I would have liked to have rumble in the PS3 controller, it was only the very rare game that ever made proper use of it. The description earlier about PG3 was dead on when it comes to good rumble - but that kind of implementation is pretty rare.

I doubt that sales of the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player will really account for much. Adoption of the high definition optical formats has been extremely slow and a $500-600 price tag isn't going to cut it. When players start getting closer to the $200-300 range I expect that the formats will start making more serious strides.

Tomb Raider Legend (the new one) is actually quite good and you'll find plenty of people who will back that game up. Actually, one of the best things about it (besides putting Lara back in the wild) was that it copied many of the mechanics from the PoP: The Sands of Time.

Anything with the Fallout name other than Fallout and Fallout 2 is not an actual Fallout game. It's just some crap made by Interplay with the Fallout name slapped on it to sell copies. They are not sequels and not actually part of the series in any way.

At least the new one is a decent game again. First one I've managed to actually play through since the first and I quite enjoyed it.

You seriously need to give the third game a chance instead of dismissing it out of hand. The "rage prince mode" as you're calling it is actually the villain of the story in many ways. The Two Thrones is a great game and I enjoyed it just as much as the first - and I had no interest at all in the second game (though the Dark Prince does a lot to reconcile the first two games with each other).

I get the feeling that many price drops we see at retail are spurred by the retailers and not the publishers. With online distribution, I've noticed that it takes much, much, much longer for prices to drop (when they actually do).

With the way most people use controllers, they'll be replacing them from wear and tear long before the battery will no longer take a charge. Especially when you have pressure sensitive buttons, analog triggers and analog control sticks and you factor in the way Sony controllers made.

It's easy to lock on and fire, but it's not so easy to lock on to exactly whom you want to shoot. The over the shoulder camera combined with mouse-aiming does make the combat much more enjoyable on the PC... but the game is just better suited to a console. Something about the driving and the running around just makes the game more enjoyable with a game pad while sitting on the couch.

Wipeout: Fusion is a HORRIBLE game. A fucking travesty committed upon the franchise. Also, it was not made by Sony.

    I miss Psygnosis.

Speaking of which, I just wiki'ed Psygnosis wondering whatever the heck happened to them. They became SCE Studio Liverpool now and they're making games again! While they had nothing to do with the travesty of Wipeout: Fusion (they DID make the first 3 games on the PSOne though), they recently made Wipeout:Pure for the PSP (of which I've heard good things)... and they have a Wipeout game planned for the PS3 now!

The last five years or so, it seems all they've put out are yearly iterations of Formula One, so it's nice to see them get the Wipeout property back (Bam! made Wipeout: Fusion).
