$13.50...That is the amount the state would loose by legalizing other forms of gambling, using your $30 example. States get about half of the lottery and they would only get about 10%, if they allowed poker. 10% is my estimate.
Yeah, this is true. Most of these plants are located in places where the winds blow 70-90%. Sadly, when they are needed most (high temps), is when they are likely to be at their worse. That is why I keep saying that our research dollars should go into energy storage (heat, capacitors, etc).
This article shows that is not the case.

In places where irrigation is difficult, is where this can be very successful.
Water is lost to evaporation, but in an enclosed environment, that evaporation can be captured and reused.
The middle east also has great sunlight for solar energy for the power needs. I also would not burn the plant waste. Too many nutrients that can be composted and put back into the soil.
I like this idea a lot. Maybe not for an urban setting, though.
As someone who likes to learn new things, I can't wait until the day when I can plug the jack in behind my ear and upload the knowledge contained in a book.
Your assumption that everyone on the EVDO network only connects via a tethered cell phone is incorrect.
Verizon sells PC cards that go into a computer so you can use your computer over the Verizon EVDO network AKA BroadbandAccess. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EVDO
In fact, I am replying to your statement on a laptop computer using a said PC Card on said Network. Either that, or I am paying for 2 cell phones like an idiot when this little slim PC card is also a cell phone. How do I dial?
Agreed, there is true camping and car camping. And I, like you, have to car camp because of the wife. No porcelain, no camping!
But doesn't the dish need line of site with the satelite? I know on cloudy days, we sometimes loose reception at our company cafeteria. Imagine what a tent or RV roof will do for reception.
I would think that intentionally poisoning with a non-household chemical would be premeditated. It's not like she picked up a knife or gun and killed because she suddenly got angry.
The fact that a government agency is not upgrading to Vista is not going to hurt MS Revenue. MS offers a yearly enterprise licensing system at a fixed cost per user.
This is the licensing that my company of 10,000 uses. I can upgrade a Win2K machine to XP for no additional cost. The same goes for any other MS App.
I am sure many companies are just like mine. They usually wait a year or 2 before upgrading to wait for all the bug fixes. I guarantee you my company won't even think about Vista or MSO2007 until 2009.
Every light in my house is a CFL. Since living here for the last 2 years, I have not had to change one.
My electric grid is not the most stable either. I am constantly getting power surges and brown outs. I have had to buy a UPS as a result for my PCs.
In situations were I want a warm or ambiant light, I just use a proper shade. If you walked into my living room, you would never know I was using CFLs.
The FCC is probably looking at the whole picture of 2 failing companies.
If both companies fail and cease operations, everybody looses.
But if the FCC allows the merger, there is a chance that a single entity can survive.
I bet the FCC will demand that they relinquish part of their bandwidth in order to make room for a future competitor.
I have been hoping for this for a long time. I have Sirius for the NFL, but I am also a baseball fan. Now I will get to have both.
Well, maybe that's a signal we're looking at things incorrectly, then. Why not build a stable core - multitasking, networking, application sandboxing, list management, basic graphics with user-settable bitmaps and/or polygonal models -- the rest of the usual suspects like disk io and USB -- and then let the user decide if they want, for instance, to add a 3d desktop with voice and haptic features, widgets, zooming, 400 language compatibility (OSX carries a crapload of language stuff to your drive it doesn't really need to, for instance) and drivers for every printer ever known to man? Because MS would not be able to make billions on new releases. Once the code was stable, what incentive would users have to upgrade.
BTW, I agree with you. I would rather have an OS do just that, operate the system. I don't need a built in webbrowser, media player, communication tools, etc. I would rather add the tools that I am going to use and trust to be the best it can be.
Yes, I know this sounds like linux. I have used linux and I keep going back to windows. I equate it to having an old comfortable blanket that I have to keep sewing the holes closed compared to the new scratchy and stiff blanket that needs to get broken in.
I am so comfortable with and have tweaked XP so much, that I have no intentions of upgrading until I am forced to to play my favorite games that will eventually be developed on DX10.
Exactly, how can they sue you for quitting when they fired you a week before your termination date.
Unless you signed an aggreement, they can't sue you. Some managemnet guy is pissed because he will now have to do the work you did that he passed off as his own. Petty
I have an agreement that says I have to give 30 days notice. But on the otherhand, I get 4 months of severence if I am ever terminated without cause. I can see being sued here if I refused to give 30 days.
Brute force took me less than 5 minutes.
Getting a replacement key took 22 hours.

I think more so because there is less quality content worth downloading.

That'll be 2 cents for that free speech tirade.

This would be unattended game play and therefore would get you banned.

Where I live in Massachusetts, USA...
...If you buy goods from another state with no sales tax, you are required to report and pay sales tax to Massachusetts for those purchased goods.
I don't know of anyone who does, however.

Is this a free speech issue? If so, couldn't he sue?
This is how the manaufacturer will make it's money. ten times the price for a cartridge that only holds 6 times the ink.

Tell that to the guy who just got run down by a leapard 10 seconds after he started running.
