Sadly, (most likely) the only thing it really will do is cause pain because they will probably jack the comcast domain emails and force the customers to have to update any signups and lists they have.
I do believe it's called a conscience? Well... unless you're a sociopath...
So... next movie is Chasing SWA? Airport Rats? Could do an Airline Clerks....
It's all well and nice to apologize, but adding the qualifier makes it sound very insincere. While the company may be guilty of GPL violations, maybe it might be a smidge more tactful and graceful to remind that on a different day.
Missed the nested quotes, my bad. Thank god I don't code at this time of the morning anymore.:D

Yes yes.... We see you can spout the damn advertisement for DSL. Whoever got the clue to compare Windows and DSL is dumb... on epic levels. You're comparing an OS not designed with size constraints with an OS specifically designed over YEARS to work with extreme size constraints. Congrats. That's like comparing a semi truck and a delivery bike and bitching because one can't be carried upstairs by the messenger. FFS.
I'm not familiar with the FIOS router, but if it has the ability to either drop transmit power, or disable the wifi side entirely (hell, my old POS dlink could even manage that feat) then using your own N off the rj45 with the fios wifi disabled (removeable ant even) would be a better solution.
I found the press release quite valuable. Being in Oregon, it notified me (seeing as the bstards didn't in email) what they were doing so I could immediately go opt-out.
like DS9 and Voyager (seriously, are there people who liked those shows?/quote.
Of course. DS9 I don't know what to say keeps me enjoying that version. Voyager, well, was all about the women (Mmmm... Jennifer Lien). The stories generally were 'ok' but nothing thrilling except for a couple various story arcs.
I don't see anything sociopathic about Steve Jobs.
I don't see Jobs as a sociopath either. I just think he's a manipulative ass who has no problems lying to friends or customers. The sad thing is, it's fairly well known, yet people still flock to the jerk. That is why I have no respect for the company or their customers.
Bingo. Customer support is expensive, and usually carried out by a third party who have a vested interested in "processing" you as quickly as possible, regardless of whether or not it solves your problem.
*cough* Stream International *cough*
I served time back in the 90s with one of those outsource companies. In a year and a half, I only had 5 calls that I didn't solve and leave the customer happy. I never met my target times on calls because of that. They preferred the typical "Well, go ahead and do this and it'll solve your problem." which was usually just an uninstall/reinstall. Sadly, this wasn't just the attitude of outsourcers since a later job with Diamond was just more of the same "ok, let's remove the device in device manager and click refresh. Ok, now put in your install media and it should work fine" (rarely did).
The only thing that working in those enviroments taught me was to be an irate customer from the start so you get escalated as soon as possible.
I would the way they will deal with typos is very similar to the phishing filter in IE7. And if a site is a valid site rather than a typo and is mistakenly marked as a typo farm, you will be able to email them and have them verify your site is not a typo farm and they will remove it. A very similar thing happened to my business site. The phishing filter marked my contact page as a phishing site, I emailed them and very quickly it was no longer reing reported as a phishing site.
Keep in mind, while it may be amusing to think of MS marking google.com as a typo farm, I would expect them to be very careful with the major sites because they are sure to not want the negative publicity to overshadow this nice attempt to protect users.
The sad thing is, I'm not sure which I would prefer. UN or Verisign control. I'm a big fan of "if it's not broke, don't fix it... but if you can upgrade it...", but Verisign is very broken imho.
I've purchased many times from Newegg over the last 5 years and I have never had any sort of random subscription tacked onto my order. As a side note, I haven't yet used the 'rush process' and my orders have always been shipped the next business day (or same business day depending on when I ordered).

Isn't he from WWE wrestling?

Mmm... shockwaves jiggling boobs. /homer
Dammit! Icee all over my screen.

Funny, I have a Kaypro II as well... rock on! Our Kaypros will rule this day!

And we all know the massive hordes of MMO players all play on Mac. ;-}

I'd mod you up if I had points. Sadly, people expect to be catered to rather than learning and adapting.

Mine was Kaypro 2 running cpm. Funnily, I still have it in my garage and it still boots fine from the hand-serial numbered floppy. :p
