Remind me, while Bush is campaigning and fundraising for McCain, who is paying him to do that? Don't know, but I'm pretty sure McCain is paying him not to.
Nobody said this about Halo or GTA IV. I think they are doing just fine not porting their games over to the Wii. Personally, if you ask me, Wii is doing good as far as the number of consoles sold, but I doubt it's doing as well as PS3 or 360 in the way of game development or even game sales. The games designed for the 360/PS3 are much more innovative and graphics intensive. Lets face it, I still don't think the Wii has released a game that has generated the kind of stir that the previous two games I mentioned have. There really hasn't been IMHO a game that people have said, "Oh man, I'm buying a Wii just to play that game!" I don't want to knock the Wii... especially since I'm one of those people who decided to purchase one, but I rarely find myself playing it unless I'm with a large group of friends... and lets face it I'm posting on Slashdot, so how often does THAT happen?
I wonder how the script got around any kind of user authentication? I, for one, have problems reading those Captcha things with my eyes... I wonder how you'd get around those with a script.
This is different. Like the iPhone, this would be a multi-touch interface. Next time you are at the bar, try to touch multiple spots on the same screen... probably will only recognize one spot. While I agree, this will increase the price of hardware on the market, it really isn't anything new. MS has been pushing the limits of what hardware can and cannot do for quite some time now. I imagine people will go out and buy these multitouch interfaces - not because they want them or need them, but just because they need a new computer. It also seems to me that the people who benefit most from Microsoft's strange obsession with pushing limitations are people running Linux on their machine just because decent hardware becomes cheaper and cheaper. So... IMHO, keep it up MS.
Personally, I think cross-platform games for the Wii are usually pretty poor. I have a 360 and a Wii, once I see that a game is released for both, I get it for the 360.
Seriously, what is it with ubuntu that everyone feels the need to speak about it? My guess is good marketing. If you were to ask the average Linux user which distro is good for new users, they would most likely say Ubuntu. Regardless of whether this is true or not, Ubuntu would seem to serve a very important function as a bridge between the Windows world and the Linux world. Which is probably a big reason why it garners so much attention.
In my experience, people who feel the need to bash this game because it's not like playing a "real guitar" usually aren't that good at "real guitar playing". I play this game, and I play the guitar. If nothing else, I see at least one positive to come out of this game as far as real guitar playing goes. This is that you learn how to move your fingers more independently. Maybe eventually, they will be able to improve upon the design so it becomes closer and closer to the real thing, but in the mean time, I think they are doing a great job at putting out an entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable game for musicians and non-musicians alike.

This site was so poorly laid out that I decided not to read it, BUT these people have jobs with major companies - they should probably stop complaining. I'm sure they had both the grades and the ability to work anywhere else.
I think you are all missing the point. Protests are only a useful tool of public disobedience if it garners media coverage. Protests of 10 or 20 people are gigantic wastes of time. In this case, I think we should look at this as a HUGE victory. I've read about this story on just about every major media related Web site. The majority of them mention the police received gifts from the church, and the basic violation of human rights. Regardless of whether this person is fined or not, big victory in the court of public opinion.
While I absolutely agree with you, but there is an obvious problem with everything you just said. If Apple is ever to be entirely successful and take over a majority of the market, they would almost certaintly be in violation of several anti-trust laws. Maybe, it's just one guy's opinion, but a PC version of OS/X is inevitable!
I just have to say... wow.. i'm amazed... wait, no, I'm not. I've worked for a government organization and this doesn't surprise me. But I was thinking a simple solution is to encrypt sensitive text, turn it into garbage, and then black out the garbage.
Haha - took me a little longer to realize why that was boneheaded then I would've liked. I wonder why they don't just encrypt text they feel is sensitive and turn it into garbage and then black out the garbage. Apparently from TFA it seems, most of the governments secrets are already garbage anyway.
I take it you don't know how to read. I was supporting my previous point that the language something is written in is trivial because the syntax shouldn't be difficult to learn.
You're forgetting one thing- Google has a responsibility to shareholders. That makes rule number 1. make money. Blaming Google is like blaming a person being held at gunpoint for getting robbed.

That's interesting... so if he had been upfront and not committed fraud... he would've been able to walk with the money.

Soo..... it's like radio... but instead of being free, I pay for it???
Was it just me, or did anyone else get the vibe that this article seemed slightly slanted toward Obama?
Just my guess.

Metal Gear Solid without Solid Snake isn't Metal Gear Solid.

... while I actually see this as far too invasive. I'd be interested to see the kind of conclusions that could be drawn from such data.

It sounds like they are saying simply uploading music to a P2P network is not illegal until someone downloads it.
