Doesn't the allowance of "unauthorized code" increase the usability of a particular device? Regardless, I'm getting pretty sick of the trend of buying a physical product and being limited in what I'm allowed to do with it.
Sounds like a win/win for Dell. Either you buy a machine with Vista on it... or you pay them more to install XP. One way or another you're shelling out a lot of money for sub-par parts and terrible service.
I know it's a pretty obvious thing to see, but history is written by those who win. Let me repeat that, history is written by those that win. Only ten years into our young democracy we were just as quick to censor the press under John Adams administration. We did it again during Lincoln and Wilson. The only thing that seperated us from them was the score. But I believe it was Churchill who said something along the lines of "democracy is the worst form government, except for all the rest". I hope this is true, and in some ways, I know it is. In peacetime, I'd much rather be in the US or Europe than China. Maybe thats the propoganda speaking, or maybe it's the obvious fact that it seems communism, for the most part, seems to require a population that is censored from the outside world. Otherwise, the great firewall wouldn't be necessary.
The MPAA is doing a pretty good job of stopping people from recording onto DVR's. Although, I'm sure once the problem is eradicated they can start putting out good movies again.
You're dead on. This is really the problem with the American Political system because nobody is in fact, moderate. Being moderate, IMHO, means having the ability to emphathize with another's viewpoints even if you disagree. If you're not moderate, you encourage your opponent to drift further away from the viewpoint that you are trying to make them understand rather than closer. It proves nothing, other than your ability to be devisive.
Apples and Oranges. Comparing any country or institutions idea of what moderate is versus another is a silly idea. Even within continental Europe, I'm sure the idea of what "moderate" is has very different meanings.
That being said, I think we can all agree that DailyKos is most certaintly considered liberal in terms of the United States political system. It's not a bad or good thing, it is what it is.
If the lack of a keyboard was seriously the only thing stopping console video game companies from making millions upon millions of dollars, I'm pretty sure they would have released one. I mean, they have the technology, it really isn't that complicated.
Actually since our year ends on December 31, 2008. I believe the end of the world will be on that day. Wow, actually that sounds kind of dumb... and the Mayans probably thought the same thing. Nothing will happen at the end of the Mayan calendar except for the calendar repeating itself.
If you actually looked at my comment rather than reacting abruptly, I made the point of saying that I want a canidate who isn't concerned with social issues because they have no point, purpose, or reason to be the deciding factor on who each party nominates. Let me reiterate, Ron Paul, if elected, wouldn't have the ability to impact any of the items you mentioned above. It would take a major act of CONGRESS. Social Issues have no purposes except being rallying points for the uninformed. "I'll vote for person X because he's pro-life regradless of what else he may stand for". It has become a standard that we are no longer voting for a person, we are voting for a list of what that person thinks they should think in order to get nominated by their party. Quite frankly, I find it disgusting.
We haven't bought into anything. Remember media is a business just like anything else. They will sell whats popular 100% of the time. People want to rag on Fox News for being slanted. These people are simply forgetting the fact that a lot of people watch Fox News. If Fox concluded that more people may watch if it were slanted left, they'd do that. Politicians are much the same. These "manufactered controversies" are our doing. We have to accept that polticians throw negative ads around for our benefit. How many more people went out to the polls when Hillary and Obama were slinging mud at each other. I'd imagine a lot more then if they weren't.
I just wish for once a person would run on something other than a slew of social issues that they have no power to change. And worse yet, I wish people would stop voting for canidates based on their stance on abortion or gay marriage or anything else. The ideal person, for me, is the person who can evaluate situations as they come along and apply a little bit of common sense in government. Maybe this describes Ron Paul, maybe it doesn't. In the end, I know that this is just a dream because the large parties will never nominate someone who goes against their social agenda and people will never vote for someone who goes against their beliefs.
I'd also like to add that there are a few different conventions in Linux that might require that you train your users. However, this is consistant with just about any new operating system or software tool. But again... it's another cost businesses have to deal with.
Maybe, I like these games for their nostalgic value, Mario, Punch-Out, etc, but they did happen to hit the nail on the head. They did't have elaborate stories with 20 minute cut scenes, and if I played them today, I'd still find them highly enjoyable (infact I sometimes do). Regardless, what I want as gamer is more gameplay and less stories. Especially less cut scenes.
I sure know I have a highly critical vulnerability to a pretty Brazillian lady doing the Samba, eh gents? I know you can mod something funny, but is there any way to mod something !Funny?

Any doubts China is going to win this lawsuit...

If I was McCain, I wouldn't worry, Obama may have his "blogs", but McCain has an ENTIRE NETWORK! http://www.foxnews.com/
Guys, you're totally taking this the wrong way... there's a compensation package!
"I'm sorry we trampled all over your rights as a citizen and human being, but here's free room and board for a month and a half."
But three words come to mind... Dewey defeats Truman. You really have to watch to see how this all plays out before calling the election.

Can't IE6 run on Wine?

...Without needing to incorporate a gazillion bytes of bloat? That's right! If anyone is going to put bloat into my code, it'll damn sure be me!
