The desire to control and repress is part of the long term plans of the Evangelical Christians here in the US. Their desire to control thought and crush dissent is just as appetizing as it is to the Chinese communist party. But fortunately, smarter (yet more dangerous people) are using the open internet to track the activities of others rather than trying to censor it.

Don't fret, censorship is coming to the US soon, but not before they are done getting red list/blue list together. Internet 2 will be the "US Internet" that one will have be licensed to use and one will take oaths of pledges to allegiance of the evil aggressor state of Neocon America.

People who think that "freedom" or "diversity" are alive and well in America needs their head examined.

The only robots we'll see in the US will be either vacuuming the floor or huge war robots from China to destroy our sorry Christian asses. Instead of wasting time on God, we should have been researching and creating awesome technology instead of outsourcing it.

Best Buy is starting to have the same moral and ethical fabric as Circuit City. Circuit City is notorious for lies, deceit, and generally screwing over its customers.

I have not walked into a Circuit City in nearly 10+ years and since they fired everyone and hired them back at reduced pay did not do much for me to shop there either.

I am kinda curious as to why people are getting various items like ceramic tiles and empty boxes when expecting equipment from the mail-order side of Best Buy. Me thinks there is a theft and resale operation going on that Best Buy might be trying to keep under raps. I have no evidence of this but it is curious as to why this keeps happening.

The phones have been plotting for years! 10 years ago, it was pagers that leashed their electronic slaves, and then the cell phone bricks became the electronic ball and chain. And then, they drugged their slaves with up-to-the-date news, sports, information, mp3, video, and real-time GPS navigation! It is like giving crack to a crackhead!!!

She can get on the economic segments and tell people how ordering Compaq to fire workers and rehire them at half the pay and no benefits as contractors is a good model for a takeover. And then fired HP employees after the merger, keeping those contractors. She can say how outsourcing is good for the economy as she fired MORE HP workers for those Indian call centers.

Part of the biggest problem was what I call the "salary correction" in 2003/4 when outsourcing was getting IT workers canned left and right. A lot went to contracting and the rest went part to full-time at reduced salaries. This was the plan. Notice how there are no more $100,000/year system administrators anymore like they're were in the 90s.

In 2002, my annual salary was $110,000, today it is $74,000 and I have had to move four times to keep up. I had started in Houston, now I am in Cleveland. Inflation has killed the value of my money and "benefits" are a joke as well high deductible PPO and a sorry 401k/severance package savings plan.

Now I will never go back to Houston again since there is NO IT industry to speak of, but all I do is keep ahead of the outsourcers now. IT sucks fucking ass and what sucks is I am good at it.

In a previous DRM discussion, I pointed out the wasteful costs of DRM and copy-protection technology and it will ultimately be defeated by those who choose to. What this "copyright alliance" is an another attempt to create laws to stop people from developing software except for companies like Microsoft.

The software and record companies have invested millions into developing copy-prevention, lock-out chips, etc and it gets defeated by some person with 20 lines of code. That is why they want congress to write laws against it. How do you think the CEO of CBS felt when he gets music mp3s emailed to him from some guy who beat a copy-protected CD with a black marker the day it came out.

I have always believed that DMCA was never designed to fight music and software pirates, but to stop the Open Source software developers. I would not be surprised if congress tried to "license" developers in the coming years. Something else that bothers me is if the try to merge the DMCA and the Patriot Act.
