    I love the way nmapfe will give you the command that it is going to run. Choose a different checkbox then the command line changes. I wish more apps did this. I prefer command line but sometimes I don't feel like reading 100 man pages so I use the GUIs. Having the GUI tell me the command it is about to run would be awesome.

    I should add that I don't do any real admin anymore. Most of slashdot would have assumed that the second I mentioned using a GUI.

    I use the same option for both land line and cellular... Ignore. If it's important then they can leave a message, and I'll ignore that too. If I didn't have other people living with me I wouldn't even get a phone. Cellular or land line. I would, of course have to figure out how to order Pizza. As it is I use the phone at home about once a month. Not really worth the 50 bucks or so a month. F'ing phones! I hates them.

    As someone who's working on the MCDBA or whatever the 2005 version of it is called. I agree totally, the exam I'm studying for right now doesn't even have a chapter on T-SQL. How bloody stooopid is that! Luckily My backing is in Oracle and I did database theory in university so I at least can figure out a join. Then again maybe MS doesn't follow ANSI Standards and have some crazy convoluted syntax for joins. As a future "F5 Monkey" I look forward to never having to know(and getting well paid while I'm at it). I for one look forward to being your well paid, clueless, MS Certified overlord!

    I get these from banks and credit card companies. The second I hear "please hold for ..." the next noise I hear is "Click". Me calling and being put on hold is one thing, getting a call and put on hold is BS I ain't putting up with. When these people eventually do get a hold of me they seem surprised that I hung up and didn't wait. Important to you doesn't mean important to me. The Collection agencies do this too but I like wasting their time. after moire then a year of threats and bulling I still get a kick out of the new stories they come up with. I especially like telling them "I'll call Citibank and ask for a 29.5% interest loan and get right back to you"

    how about this then... Everyone go to their cd stands and rip every CD and DVD that is made by sony and share it, torrent it, upload it to warez sites, whatever. Make their content free for everyone. if people can't be deprived of their entertainment then let's at least make it easy for them to find it for free. Sure this may just reinforce in their minds the cost to them because of piracy , but this is an easy way to hit sony in the bank.

    at least he was taught the truth. There's no point to life, we're just meat sacks. would his life be any better if he was stuff full of a mythology du jour? no he'd just think that it was because at some point in the future they'd get harp lessons.

    Phew it's a good thing I won't run mine in a Virtual Machine. Mine will be running in a Artificial Computing Enviroment. Funny how a change in acronyms means that now I am not violating the EULA. moot point as I won't be buying vista anyways... I just had to crack a joke.

    this is how I do it. I have a 19 and 17 at work and a 21 and 17 at home. When in windows you can maximise the remote session in the second monitor then it's exactly like having two computers on the same keyboard and even the hotkeys like WIN+E for explorer work. Find two monitors much better then one big one. Id rather shove windows off to the side(on monitor #2) then to juggle them around one huge ass monitor. That being said, what I really want is a digital projector that doies ultra high res so I can use the entire wall as a monitor. Maybe two so I could use dual head using two walls. Jeez I'm starting to drool now!

    I carry cash (when I have any) because I don't want the banks and other spying agencies to know where and when I spend my money. All they need to know is that at Date X I withdrew Y dollars. I know that all I buy is groceries and the occasional fast food meal so it's nothing worth hiding, but It's the point that counts. if the marketers that the banks sell my info to get no data then the smugness I feel warms me better then any furnace.

    I use an old PCMCIA card case. My business cards are about 1mm to big but if I only carry a few at a time they fit.
