Not going to happen but I'd love to see the 3rd party AV companies say "Alright then suit yourself" and close up shop. Leave MS to handle AV by itself. It's already been demonstrated how easy it is to bypass the new "security" that is making life hard for symantec et al(no link, I'm lazy).
It'd be interesting to see the ramifacations of such an action. I know I'd be surfing using a Live CD with no drives mounted (normally an XP/2000/server 2003 user I guess I'll get what I paid for!) . I also know I'd sleep better knowing I'd never have to fix a screwed up windows installation because of a McAffee/Norton glitch(rnav is your friend).
I doubt that Apple would go for an instore presence inside of Walmart. If apple wanted to kill the coolness factor of the ipod then coupling the name to walmart is one way to do it. The "Kewl" kids don't shop at walmart.
(I haven't been to a walmart in a few years. Do they even sell Ipods?)
Walmart - Your source for cheap plastic crap.
Journalists should all be required to read the relevant wikipedia articles before publishing something about science
Or they should at least edit the relevant wiki articles to make sure it matches their article.
That's a great idea! I'll find 30 or so of my friends, give us a year and 30 Million dollars and I'll give you a commission report that says "Spend less"
I don't own a cell phone, neither does my girlfirend, or her sister, or any of our family members come to think of it. My sister did once, I think the battery gave up 5 years ago, not it's a toy for my son.
I don't want to be connected to anyone else, as a matter of fact I try very hard not to be listed on anywebsite with my real name or contact information. (slashdot is one of the few with my real name) I don't even answer the land line at home. I would rather live by myself actually, but the family thing came along and I'm used to it now. As for MSN I have one contact in my list.
Not everyone feels the need to be surrounded 24/7 by people. When I meet people like that I wonder "What are they afraid of?"
Most of my old records still sound great. Sure there's hiss and pop but at 30 years old they still sound better then some of the CDs I've had for under five years. Some of the older quality records are quite hard to scratch. Compare that to a CD which scratches when someone sneezes in the next room.
I have waaaaaay more worn out CDs then I do records, and not because I play the CDs more. It's because they're more fragile, and if they're fragile to the point of being needing to be played in a cleanroom wearing latex gloves to prevent fingerprints then they are quite frankly a useless medium for long term music enjoyment...
Maybe they should hook into the private travel industry too. You know maybe people who book with places like seeisraeltours.com. Going to the Middle east? Must be a terrrrist.
i'm not sure what the parent is talking about
Did you read the list before you cut and pasted? Lindsay Lohan? Bee Gees? Scissor Sisters? Like the commercial Says...It's only a deal if it's something you want.
That being said I'm sure that Universals holdings cover more the 40 or so "artists" (- Quotes are for lindsay Lohan) that are listed on the wiki. I'll be waiting for more details before attending. The last thing I need is a secretly installed ad-popup machine in return for the priviledge of listening to crap like 98 degrees(We're they a boy band? I'm too lazy/don't care enough to check).
Toronto? Ok then, I'll agree. Toronto is a big Yawn, nothing interesting aboot it. You should have tried Montreal or Quebec City, much nicer(and closer). MMMmmmm, Montreal women.

so what you're saying is... "Imagine a university building a beowulf cluster of these"!
So would this mean the MS would be able to send the rootkit out in a service pack instead of on a CD?
Ho Ho. Maybe china's with china's new internet we can finally get that "evil bit" that we've heard so much about.
I suppose that you can say that sea level never changes... It's always at sea level.

All the arab countries I have visited had hebrew signs.
