No teacher I know works a 40 hour week. they work the day at school, go home, mark papers for a couple of hours then prep for the next day. Don't for get all the extra after school activities that some one has to supervise(most teachers i know have the opinion that parents think that school is some sort of 12 hour a day free daycare). If I had to look after some of the psycho out-of-control brats that my girlfriend does I'd demand MORE then 8 weeks of holidays to recover.
As an employee of the Alumni Department at a Canadian University I'll add this. I switched universities and it was a huge mistake. I went from being a 3rd year Com Sci student to a student with 127 hours of elective credits. I had to do my final 3 years doing a full course load of core courses just to attempt to graduate (which I didn't). Imagine the burnout of 10 courses per year of Math and Comp Sci. Might sound like a dream until you have 3 programming assignments(COBOL C++, and Mainframe assembly), a numerical analysis paper and whatever else I had to do(this was 10 years ago).
So think twice about switching universities. Tell the university admin that as an alumni you will not be donating, helping or giving a positive review of the university. With admission levels rising (at least in Manitoba) a student that leaves will be replaced by another bill paying body. Leverage the alumni department. These people will bend over backwards to make you happy if they think they can get money out of you.
The notion of a nation motion is not to make a nation legislation, and while emotions about the motion are running high what people need to know is according to all the promotion, the motion states that all these nations can only be nations within a united nation... of Canada

Jeez you crazy christians. Don't you know the the earth is the Body of Tiamat after getting ripped in half by Marduk? What are they teaching in schools these days?
I agree, I would rather my kids have textbooks from this decade(or century) then have new computers. There are better things to learn then powerpoint. I'd rather my kids not have access to computers in school anyways. I want them to use their brains, not software.
Myself and coworkers had to swap out close to 1500 of these boards. IBMs of various makes and models. Thankfully I found a better job before the project really got rolling. I only had to do about 70.
But your country will. Someone I know just went to jail for owning child porn. He'll most likely be deported back to germany after his release from jail. His finger prints won't be in any interpol DB, so he'll still be free to enter the US anytime. So what are you protecting yourselves from?
Pretty Draconian if you ask me. I'm just glad I have no need or desire to visit your country.
I'm gonna catch it now! I believe ( it was a few months ago) it was Wolvix (media edition) It found all of my hardware except for the camera. Every few months or so I cycle through 3 or 4 distros to see if any new cool ones have appeared. The last time I think I tried dreamLinux, wolvix, Mepis(which gave my ati 9550 a max resolution of 800x600. Mepis lasted an hour on my PC), Zenwalk and fedora. Wolvix was my favourite (Zenwalk was a close second) so I'm assuming it was that one.
Unfortunately, a failing HDD gave me so much headache installing these distros that I gave up and went back to a ghosted image I had of XP. It was when that failed that I started to dig and found the disk problem. by that time I wanted something running fast so I went with the XP image.
My Canon powershot S1 IS Didn't work and it's not exactly a new camera. I would much rather be on linux but unfortunately there's too many barriers for me. SQL Server as far as I know doesn't have a Linux port. Don't bother to tell me about MySQL/Postgres/BrandX databases. Yes, they're great but I'm not the one making the decisions.
We use them in our house almost exclusively and I have no problem with the delay. We also use them on the front porch and when it's cold (-30 C) then they're really quite dim, and have a reddish tinge as mentioned above. Still, if it provides me with enough light to get the key in the door then I really don't care. I'm not trying to light up the neighbourhood. In fact, I'd love it if my neighbors did the same so it wasn't so much light pollution in our area.
I haven't even been to any of these sites and I'm tired of them. Tired of hearing about them, tired about reading about them, tired about everyone talking about them like they're the coolest thing evar! From what I've read (most of it here) they sound really bloody lame. A site filled with 1,000,000 snotty pretentious 13 year olds posting about what they think is cool and looking for "Friends"
Not this guy. I have a clock on the wall at work so I know when to go home and one bedside to tell me when it's time to go to work. Other then that does it matter what time it is? Not for me.
"Kathy should recognize that her acts do far more good than the risk of harm merits and go on."
Do far more good? It's not like she's a crusader for the homeless or human rights. She blogs and writes about Java.

Doom forever domes out first, then all other doom scenarios.

Yeah yeah, not real HTML you get the idea...
WTF! where are all the jokes about them being powered by dell batteries? Maybe I should threshold at less then 3...
Reversing the polarity of my PC power supply sure solved the problem of a persistent Windows installation.
Some of us also don't use excel when datasets are over 64000 rows.
Babylonian. http://sorrel.humboldt.edu/~geog309i/ideas/dragons /t&m.html Most myths have thier similar elements. just like MS and Apple cultures also "innovate" from each other.

don't forget to add the right to bare arms. No shirts and ties for me when it gets hot!

It seriously came from a bumper sticker. If I stopped living in bible belt areas I might even be brave enough to put it on the bumper.
Like the bumper sticker says "if going to church makes me a Christian, does going to the garage make me a car?"

Pipes? Here in Winnipeg, we use tubes.
