This reminds me of This past 4th of july.
We threw an SGI Indigo 2 out of a third story window onto concrete. That glorious box just dented and bounced!!!! If their staff can build such rock stable pieces of equipment then dammit. Oh well.... Atleast SGI will still have their Lava Lamp Random Number generator page up.
http://lavarand.sgi.com !!!!
Aint it cool news was reporting on the possiblities of a 4th Indy movie for over 3 years now. And As of 2 years ago There were rumors of Film Crews scoping out underwater scenes for a possible indy movie. And back then the rumor was still atlantis. Rumors rumors rumors. Believe it when Lucas or Spielberg/speilberg errrr.... Announce it.
This is a complete shock to me. Someone who hasn't been paying attention to the console world in years. I thought Nintendo Died? I mean Ultra 64 is horrid. It wasn't fun when it first came out, and the only two decent games they have are zelda and GoldenEye. Sega has this groovin Dreamcast which is an awsome system with awsome game support. Is it me or is nintendo trying to drive everything into the ground? I guess they made alot more money off of Pokemon than I previously thought.
Hmmm. Pop ups on Entry, pop-ups on Exit. Pop-ups during, Getting redirected to different sites entirely... Yep. The Porn industry has been at this for a few years now. Hint: turn java script off.
The first episode of the Mini-Series is awsome.
A few parts went into a great deal more detail than the movie some parts weren't. The special effects were fabulous. My only major beef was the fact that they were never on caladan (sp). And Paul reminded me way to much of Luke Skywalker. He even had that weird mole thing on his cheek goin. I said to my romates taht they should have casted Mark instead. And where can I get some Spice Beer? Two gulps! He was gone! I want! Im sick of having to pay for atleast 6 Beers at the Bar.
He is updating his VAIO?
That would require PCMCIA working? I've tried and tried and tried and cried many a long hours
to get PCMCIA working on my damn laptop with FreeBsd 4.1 And it was shotty at best. Am I missing something? Or does anyone else have issues with PCMCIA working with BSD's in general?
Hell. Non-x86 must be a giant problem. I have problems finding the darn plugins in need for Non Windows / mac platforms. Even if they are x86 based. I would give my left foot for Quicktime or ASF working nicely under Linux.
What needs to be done is a standard plugin format which does not depend on Machine Code. *cough* bytecode *cough* cough* Java.
Im just bitter
Is it me.. or is this.NET thing starting to look alot like MS is trying to rid itself as windows... I know this may sound nuts. But lets say in the event that MS Splits..NET would be part of the buisness Tools. Now... The Nature of.NET if I read correctly is Served Applications much like Turning our own computers into Thin Clients. Or remotely running an App. Wouldn't this then lead to independence from Windows and alow.NET to actually become a very wealthy property. Given the fact that Office is Undeinably one of the most heavily used Buisness Product that provides some sort of Productivity (Minesweeper and Solitaire are not Productive.) Anyways. Enough of my Ramblings. My Prophetic views are starting to scare myself. A day when the rumours a year ago were true. That Microsoft will start charging subscription fees for their products.
Through out my years at college. Classes have been demeaning to my intellegence. However one of the unique benifits you obtain from living in a college community is the fact that you have the rare oppurtunity to meet _alot_ of new people. I have learned more about programming from teh friends I have made here at college than i have from the actuall College. If anything I am still getting my college education.... Cept its not from the professorsb
YES! If i had 2 million or so to throw around (gross underestimate) I could save alot of money on shipping seeing as how The Place selling it is ~1 City Block from my apartment.
Do the Hand Spring Visors work with linux?

Does the various Palm Utititles that were writtne for linux work with the Handspring Visor? I know the visor Runs Palm OS But are the communication protocols the same?
Not everyone has freedom of speech. Criminals certainly do not. If they had freedom of speech then it couldn't be held against them. The law works in many fun ways
Hey... I understand the need to block Porn from School and libraries. But I don't see how anyone can justify blocking Political views from a place of Learning... I mean come on. This isn't communist China. We are allowed to bad mouth our own government if we want.
Oh yea. Bush 2000
What similarites do napster and the DVD Decoders that are currently under trial have? Aren't both arguments it makes it easier to Pirate? And what if one gets decided in a good way and the other in a bad way? Can' you use one ruling to counteract the other ruling? I haven't really been paying close attention to either of the cases because Most of my MP3's come from sources other than Napster (FTP, IRC, Friends) and my DVD Player isn't a computer drive, its a real set top(is that the right word?) Its just the way I see it, the two arguments for each case are that this software is making it easy to pirate. It'd be nice if we got good rulings on both. But seriously what happens if one case goes one way and the other goes the other way?
Remember folks. Star Trek == Fiction Cold Plasma == Real. We all know how technology in star trek is created don't we? Let me share Writer1: "Hey Where are the Darts?" Writer2: "They are stuck in the wall above the Techno Board." Writer3: "What are the darts for? I'm New" Writer1: "WEll we have a board with a bunch of technical Babble. We just take teh darts and throw them at the board. See... I just made Tacyhon Positive Repulstion. Its how we make up our technology"
Also. Picards Fish he has in his Ready Chamber, its name is Livingston. And No I don't watch * Trek
Would Dragging a 5km Wire around be "Safe" i mean there is alot of space debris up there floating about. ANd If the wire were to hit one or even get tangled on one (like fishing line on tree branches) wouldn't that cause a problem?

Just imagine of the various cameras or whatever they are using to seee where your focus is. Kicks in during your "private time" with websites like "pbits.com" just imagine. I hate to be the one who has to code the functions to handle that kind of attention. hey wait. Maybe we can use this to make it automatically switch screens when the microphone hears your mom knocking at your bedroom door and you have to jump up and pretend you weren't doing what you were just doing
You bring up a good point however its not entirely valid for a rebutal of this sort. I did not mention anything about the important link to the MS Lawsuit being deleteed because it wasn't. However deleting a post about Microsoft Something or another that hasn't become a controvertial subject on slashdot, can very well go un noticed. By deleting the link before it can get noticed by anyone can keep away legal issues. Whereas Getting rid of post no one knows about is like pirating music nobody listens to. Is not the same as Gettind Rid of posts no one knows about before that particular post becomes a major slashdot political issue. Tag your it
The Slashdot Crew wouldn't Remove posts that were obviously the cause of major contraversty ?sp? Because everyone would go apeshit if that post was removed. However posts that no one knows about can be moderated at will. And very few poeple would notice. Sneaky huh.
Cmdr Taco would say. We got our news from an Anonymous Coward and because it was anonymous we have no way in knowing who it was. "But Mr. Taco.... You interviewed your source at his house." "Oh Right... Well... uhh...Hey The Who are going back on Tour!".
Yea. Im dismayed about that too. But the information on how to make your own is there and the process needed
