The astroturfing itself isn't that newsworthy, but if it could be proved MS is doing something illegal here, it might blow up and become quite something.
Power is an issue, because once again Nintendo cannot compete with the other consoles. This means 3rd party developers aren't interested *again*, because the gap between the PS4/XBONE and Wii U is simply too big. The extra hassle of getting modern games to run on the Wii U aren't worth the effort, so all that is left is lots of Mario's, Zelda's and Pokemons.
And that wouldn't be that bad *if those games were actually available*. But they aren't. It's now 14 months after the launch of the Wii U and there still isn't a Zelda-game, no Mario Kart, no Pokemon, no Mario Galaxy for the Wii U. Just to name a few.
And then there's the controller. The Wii was compelling to a lot of people because of its novel motion controller. The Wii U has nothing of the sort. Sure, a tablet controller might be new in console-land, but everyone and their mother have already got a tablet. And any old iPad/Galaxy/Nexus/whatever tablet is way nicer than the clunky piece of white plastic Nintendo is providing with their system.
Combine all this with the terrible name and you've got exactly the clusterfuck that is the Wii U.
JS is already improving very nicely. ECMA5 is a huge improvement, and it's getting more consistent with each version.
There's really no need to invent a whole new programming language for the browser. JS does its job just fine already, it just has some legacy issues which are being fixed over time.
There's no way Dart or whatever language will be "perfect" or even close to something like that, so going for this approach serves no purpose at all.
It's still a terrible game. The maps are way too small to create something that even comes close to a city. Even building a midsized town isn't possible, it's really a neighborhood at most.
And then there's the bugs, which are still plentiful. And the general lack of fun. It's just a waste of time and money, this game.
If I were Amazon I'd mount camera's on the delivery drones and stream the images from them over the internet 24/7. If someone steals or damages the drone, you've got them on video.
Hmmm, seems like it was as big week for joke browser games with http://vlambeerclonetycoon.com/ also getting a lot of press. Will this be a thing in 2014?

Ryse looks pretty good.
Unfortunately, that's exactly all there seems to be to it.

What? Of course time isn't man-made. Why would you say only man cares about time? I'm pretty sure plants and animals are also happily perceiving the passage of time.
There are over 970 000 registered users on Drupal.org. If only 0.5% of them would donate $22.2 (0.5% of the average monthly salary of US programmer) each month, we would raise $1.3M every year which equals 24.3 full time developers.
But if 1% of us would donate 1% of our salary each month, we would rise $5.1M - enough to feed 96.2 full time developers. And if we add the money that companies, from small to enterprise level donate for Drupal development each year, these numbers could be even higher.
Wow. That is delusional like you don't often see. Why would 1% of the registered users donate 1% of their salary all of a sudden? They should be happy if they raise 1% of that.
Silver medal is actually for beating the Turing test (which of course has never happened and won't happen anytime soon). Gold medal is awarded for passing the Turing test based on more than just text input (talking with the bot, showing the bot stuff etc.).
Apple changed the way this data was stored, only stored current information (instead of a complete history), made it possible to encrypt the data and also added an option to disable it altogether. So yeah, a lot did change after this was exposed.
People will absolutely find out if their prints are indeed uploaded or stored on their device. Apple knows this, they've learned it the hard way when someone found out about the storing of geo-data and made an app to show the travel log of any iPhone user a few years ago.
I don't think Apple would make these claims (without anyone asking no less) if they weren't true. If they were storing this data, they would have been quiet about it, don't you think?
Now, with almost 50% better battery life as promised by Intel for Windows tablets, the OEMs have no real need to come out with Windows RT based tablets and hybrids anymore.
Which OEMs would that be? Acer was already out, as are Samsung and ASUS. Does Dell still sell Windows RT products?
And then find out you can't use a single website because Firefox 3.6 doesn't support HTML5 and its Javascript engine is too slow to do anything useful.
There's also http://one.com/ which offers a cloud storage service.
It would be hilarious if Microsoft was forced to change the name again *fingers crossed*
So what kept you from playing Wind Waker on your GameCuber or Wii then, if you're such a Zelda-fan?
Everyone who is older than 12 and remotely interested in Nintendo and Zelda, yes.
The astroturfing itself isn't that newsworthy, but if it could be proved MS is doing something illegal here, it might blow up and become quite something.
So people who are fans of Zelda aren't buying Wii U's. Same goes for fans of Mario Kart, fans of Pokemon etc.
Nintendo might be able to get away with having little to no 3rd party games, but if there also aren't that many 1st party games then what is there?
Wind Waker is GameCube's Zelda. There isn't one original to the Wii U.

There are loads of games where this isn't an issue at all.

Why was 90+ million dollars budgeted for the development of one freaking website?

Yeah, don't get it either. Best Zelda they ever did was on the N64. And Mario 64 kicks ass too. N64 rocks.
game prices have been going down
Especially true if you owned a Neo Geo.
Your pretty dumb.
God I love this line. I can't stop laughing.
GTA was originally a PC game and they have been treating PC as a second class citizen lately.
If by "lately" you mean "since 1999", then I suppose you're right. GTA hasn't been a PC game for a looooong time.
