    Will this do?

I would not touch that with a barge pole. MS XML is an example that they are not moving on that issue, or they would support ODF, not using dirty tactics to force an half-backed non open standard.

They have an history to use one OSS group against another too.

Blender is in a position where we do not depend on any MS backed format, so I think we should be very careful to stay neutral in those areas.

    and

Personally I don't see why specific attention should be given to proprietary Microsoft file formats. If they continue to avoid truly open standards and their own file formats provide a sub-optimal experience for Windows users, then it is not the open source community that has a problem imho.

I don't see Microsoft making it easy for Mac, Sun, Linux etc users to use their "file formats, which are not open or not fully open". Any multi platform application which has support for Windows specific file formats is going to end up with a fragmented community as data then becomes platform specific even if the application isn't.

Do we want to help Microsoft lock more users data to their platform, or do we want to encourage Microsoft to truly move towards open standards?

That's just the first two comments.

Exactly! Which is why I finally decided to lock down my router last night, due to paranoia. I live in a new development where homes average 30 meters apart with no big trees or other obstructions so my router has pretty good reach. Most of my neighbors have the same ISP I do, which gives you an ADSL modem/router combo (I see four 'admin' and a 'linksys' AP's), but apparently these folks have no idea what AP they are connecting to and, somehow, mine was the first choice. From the article

ActionScript bytecode state; yeah, about that. ActionScript is Javascript that controls Flash animations. But the Javascript system used by Flash is pretty advanced; for performance, it transforms Javascript into bytecodes for a VM. For a bytecode VM, ActionScript is pretty tight; its runtime stack is integrated with the CPUâ(TM)s runtime stack. The memory it uses to execute code is the same memory that the Flash C-code runtime uses to manage its own state. ActionScript is a register-based VM, meaning that its bytecode instructions concern themselves chiefly with moving values in and out of memory slots that simulate CPU registers. Those registers live in the runtime stack and are accessed by indexing. Meaning, a malicious Flash bytecode instruction can index its way to an arbitrary address on the system stack. Game over.

Some experienced craps players take this 'feeling' to extremes and will walk away from a table if the ambiance is disturbed in any way.

I'd disagree slightly with this. Just knowing how the game is played, odds of various bets and knowing the correct amount you can bet, playing 'right' and 'wrong'(best odds of any game in the house), paying attention to the play(especially after a few drinks, buxom waitresses), staying away from 'sucker' bets, etc., would all count as a certain degree of skill.

I don't think ziRtrON was relating buying the 6/8 to card counting. Just that at 6:4 odds you can make a lot of money quickly on a 'hot' table.

My biggest problem is throwing the dice. After years of use and damage, my hands don't always do what I intend. I once hit a stick-man in the face with a die. He told me I was the first to do that. Very embarrassing.
