Too bad W3C Validators dont work correctly.
And unlike some imaginary world you wish us to build websites for, in this world most users use IE. Websites are built for users, not webmasters. So a webmaster must make sure that his website is rendered correctly on the user's computer and keep the ideology to himself or find another job.
Quite frankly, I don't understand why there is almost no active lobbying for harsh laws towards hacking. Just think about it - When launching an online server, be it an an application server , gaming or communication server , a hosting service or a website - what is your most major concern after the development is over(even if the development was done with it in mind )?
Security. The FEAR of getting your server hacked pretty much doubles the development cycle, and is around 70% of the patches and fixes issued after it is launched. It's retarded that not having enough security = invitation for being hacked. Sleeping with the windows (no pun intended) open and getting a "I walked around your house and took a shower, don't forget to close your windows tomorrow night" letter on the next morning in case of a white hat or "I stole your stereo and PS2, why the fuck you left the windows open" in case of a black hat, is how the internet works these days, and it needs a major fix.

I sincerely apologize for calling you a liar.
You know , I looked at the packages on the hosting company, haven't seen a.rb file, and it's MFA, so I (probably) made a bad call.
Cheers.

You just plugged an automated MFA(Made for adsense) site into Slashdot. Congratulations.
Moreover J Mark, your hosting company,Superb Internet - doesn't offer Ruby, that is unless you get a dedicated server of course.
I think you are a liar.
It's crashing every 3 hours . I am using FireFox 2 with two addons (all downloaded from their official collection) , Firebug (for simple web page and xml "debugging" ) and AdSense notifier.
Just FYI , FireFox has a very nice feature for restoring previous session in case it crashes , which is regretfully a rather common sight with my newly installed FireFox 2 . Thing is , it actually crashes because of certain web pages (try the comments on the Israeli www.ynet.co.il site) , which is just sad . A browser should not just crash and burn because of non-standard pages , no matter how weird they are . If you are just a Windows user and not a developer which needs several browsers , just stick to IE7 .
Having ideas doesn't mean you should get paid . It's just a matter of choice , if you want to be rich you get financial education , if you want to develop or research , you study something else . Studying engineering while dreaming of becoming rich is as silly as studying psychology to become a chef . It's not like engineering is easier to study or practice , it's just a matter of personal preference .
Hi...
Firefox (untweaked) can easily take more mem than WinXP Pro+20 services combined...
Just a quik reminder that the most popular alternative is no better...
This is why there is DRM . So if you get ONE copy for your own use , you don't get to make more copies or give it to anyone else to use .
DRM is not "necessary" to protect copyright , but it is it's purpose to do so . Sure , the current DRM technologies do more harm than good , but in the future everything will be DRMed , and the hardware will enforce it (look at the current HDTV DRM stuff) .
Vista is for home users . USERS . I operate a microwave , while being completely unaware of it's innerworkings . This is what a user of a PC should be like .
1) Most home users do not use an actual backup utility . They just copy stuff , and curse and spit every 4 years when the HD crashes .
2) An integrated web browser is not a bad thing . And considering the fact that you complain that Vista doesn't play DVDs , I don't see your point .
3) Windows Firewall is no worse than any other SOFTWARE FIREWALL . You want a real firewall ? Get a box .
4) Yeah , the DVD thing sucks . But then again , it means that a user actually gets to install a non-ms product .
5) Normal people doesn't really need file permissions for multiple users. They don't even understand the concept . I think less than 5% of users actually need that at home.
6)Again , nobody actually uses the command line interface . I installed cygwin bash shell on my machine , but normal people dont need that .
7) When was the last time you've met a home user that tried creating 10 accounts ?
8) No secure automation of common tasks . Not secure automation of anything .
I think Vista is a useless upgrade , and a total waste of money . But that's because I am perfectly happy with the way XP behaves at this point .
With all due respect , the status quo is fine . It's all good . Yes , there are interests and money flying around and some small issues , but frankly the current situations is much better than having a multi-headed International even more interest-torn organization .
Too bad there is none . There is something that comes close , and it might come even closer within 5 years or so , but the only reason to use at home would be if Vista would actually be the DRM filled memory-hoggin processor-crushing system that it is predicted to be .
I think it will just ruin the name and the good memories we have from his first post. His first post was a classic , no hype , no betas or previews , it was just fun to read . Heck , I even enjoyed the first reply . But something tells me that not only the next post will be delayed, but it won't be that interesting or half as fun to read as the original. I'll still read it though...

Sticking to FireFox stucks your computer .... (quite annoying . I've seen the session recovery window 5 times now)

I thought they were trying to improve their engineers' productivity ..
Google is on the right path .

It benefits the advertisers , it benefits the country , and it doesn't cost me a dime . While is this a bad move ?

Don't get sensitive please . Not knowing/understanding what I meant was stated as an observation , not an insult ...
You clearly don't know or understand what I am talking about .

I'll still read it though...
I was born in Ukraine actually , and travel to both Russsia and other ex-USSR repulics quite often , and am aware of that kind of "business model" .
How is this different from establishing a site name AllOfAdobe.com , and selling copies of Photoshop and Macromedia Studio for 40 cents ?
