Perfect 10 publishes nudes which could be considered artistic. As far as I've seen, no genitalia is even shown. It's purely topless modelling. How is this, in any way, shape, or form, "X-rated"?
Perhaps Slashdot editors should consider including more information in the summary for this article? I have no idea what Aibo or Qrio are and should not have to click on an external link to find out. The entire point of a summary is to give me enough information to decide whether or not I am interested in reading the full article. Perhaps Journalism 101 at the local community college should be a requirement for all Slashdot editors?
Yes, so whenever you sign off, other people can sign on with your screen name and pose as you. And so channel thieves with botnets can takeover your channels. On the other hand, you could deal with NickServ and ChanServ. IRC is great for chatting with geeks throughout the world. But to talk to normal people, instant messaging is the way to go. I don't expect my girlfriend, or, hell, most of my friends for that matter, to sign onto something as complex as IRC whenever they want to send me a message to see what time I'm coming over or what the professor said about existentialism.
I don't think the vast majority of the population cares enough about WiFi to vote for a particular candidate based on that. Yes, San Francisco has more techies per square mile than most American cities, but I'd wager that this isn't a political move. Promising better schools, better roads, public transportation, less crime... those are political moves. Free WiFi, feasible or not, is NOT going to win votes. Most of the computer geeks are too busy playing CS in their parent's basements to hit the polls anyway. (not a troll, but based on my actual observations!)
I was just in Poland and the coke there tasted awful. So I can confirm this... The pepsi tasted exactly like Pepsi here in the U.S. though... which is to say, too sweet.
If you think the people of Iran are content with the situation, then you need to educate yourself on this topic. As an Iranian-American I can say that most Iranians are NOT happy with the mullahs in power.
First of all, every major software company including Microsoft will be against this idea, and the BSA with its powerful lobby, is against this idea. This would make it much more difficult for them to protect their software. Patents are just the icing on the cake for software companies. They are much more difficult to get. Copyright has always been a given.
The idea that software could not be copyrighted but books, music, etc. could is hypocritical. Copyright would have to be removed from all those forms of media to be consistent with software not being copyrightable.
Newspapers don't really make much revenue on the actual cost of the paper. It's the advertising charges that make up most of their profit. So you aren't really robbing them of anything. In fact, you're doing them a favor by reading their paper.
Please move out of my region. It's people who don't watch the news, don't read anything about the candidate, but then vote for Bush because his "policies" (none of which they can accurately describe) supposedly work.
Ah well, Northern Virginia is moving toward sanity. Fairfax County went blue this time around.
I remember reading a while back about how Sanford Wallace gave up spamming and bought a nightclub in New Hampshire. Here's a wired story that takes about that:

The last thing you want to do is co-sign on a loan for ANYBODY... I would even have doubts about doing it for my own family.
The telephone was created by Alexander Graham Bell, a Canadian.

Did you RTFA? He mentions GAIM in it, and even talks about what's wrong with GAIM.

A behemoth, eh?
Lol. I run into caryw in the darnest places.
Since when is Dubai located in India?
It's in U.A.E.
Remember, in Iran not just ANYBODY can run for President. Only the "inner circle" lackeys are allowed in the race.
Remember, Iran's GOVERNMENT considers americans to be devils. Not Iran's people.

The Iran coup was actually in 1953 with the removal from power of democratically elected Mossadegh and his replacement with the shah.
The pricing is not the same. $29.95 versus $24.95 direct from Vonage.
You think they'd build a revolving building like this and NOT have an elevator?

It'll never happen.
+5 Insightful?
The guy makes a cheap stab. "Literate urbanites". Sorry, but literacy is lowest in the republican red states.

When I go to the homepage for Club Plum Crazy at http://www.clubplumcrazy.com/ -- I see that it is closed until further notice.
I guess DJ MasterWeb couldn't give up his old spamalicious ways, and has gone back to the crooked lifestyle, this time with spyware. What a shame.
LEMUR? I'd rather use MONKEY!
Redundant?
Where else is a link posted to that site?
More proof that the moderation system is majorly fucked up the arse.
How would the District Attorney be involved? The examples you mention are CIVIL suits, which usually don't involve the district attorney.
