Also, food allergies seem to be a symptom of lack of breastfeeding and using formula instead. Obviously, virtually everybody breastfeeds in third world countries.
Unfortunately for me, my mom bought into that whole 'we know everything a baby needs and formula is better than breastfeeding' nonsense that was popular back then.
I am equally suspect of dog food. Yeah, like you really know everything my dog needs. Translation: Here's a bunch of cheap, rotten crap we can't sell to people for health reasons. Let's spray it on a soy/cereal mixture... I mean, we know everything your dog needs and I can't believe you don't give your dog dog food! What a terrible dog owner giving them table scraps like they've been eating for thousands of years.
I have a car with a real-time MPG gauge and I used to believe that hauling weight in the trunk would reduce gas mileage. But once, I was getting fantastic gas mileage on a tank (about +1 MPG over average, which is about 25.4) and I didn't know why.
A few days later, when the tank was almost empty, I opened the trunk and discovered my wife had left about 80 lbs of stuff in the trunk (about 160 kg for non-Americans).
The only thing I could figure is that the car has trained me to get good fuel economy because of the real-time gauge (about +2 MPG). I coast whenever possible, using my momentum to its fullest advantage. So, it would seem that while getting 80 more pounds up to speed is a small disadvantage, coasting with 80 more pounds of momentum is a larger advantage.
I have verified this a couple other times when I have stuff in the trunk. I guess I could leave extra stuff in there all the time, but as the parent said, it's only about $2.50 a month.
And yet, when I run a batch file running all single threaded programs on Windows 7, it somehow uses both CPUs nearly identically, no parallel code required (in the programs themselves).
I have long said that I would watch a Kings game in blurry SD with Vaseline smeared on the lens (in other words, on FSW2).
For certain movies on Netflix streaming, I still wait for BluRay because I want to see it that way (mostly action/effects movies). On other movies (documentaries, chick flicks with my wife), I couldn't care less.
First I'm hearing of it, but it's obviously faked. The poses are too staged for somebody upset with a job enough to be quitting. The emotional reactions are all wrong.
Technically, they are already using ELO-CHESS in the BCS, because Jeff Sagarin uses it in his rating system. So all that has to happen is for Jeff Sagarin to change his method.
You can use calculators on the SAT? Since when? My favorite trick was using the black marks on the side of the Scantron page to measure the graphs. Because if they didn't say Not To Scale, they were.
Always post these types of YouTube videos WITHOUT AUDIO to avoid this problem. In fact, find some CC music that makes the cop out to be MUCH WORSE than the video would ever show...
I wonder if this may ever escalate into being allowed to legally download a torrent of a DVD you own but have broken? Yeah...a guy can dream:(
Actually, the judge mentioned this possibility in the Tenenbaum case. The problem I see is that you are almost certainly uploading it to other people who are not licensed.
The owner's technological measure must protect the copyrighted material against an infringement of a right that the Copyright Act protects, not from mere use or viewing.
It means everything for Joe Average's DVD collection. He should have no problem putting it on a home server or a laptop, for instance, because he is not violating the Copyright Act by copying it for his own viewing/use.
You can't give them the license sticker because the license number is in the CMOS/firmware. You install Windows with the "HP key" or "Dell key" and it automatically finds the license number on the machine.
That's why OEM licenses are given at a discount. They are not transferable.
Actually, Firefox is pretty dreadful on my single-CPU EEEPC lately. It tends to lock itself up even if it's the only thing running.
This happens on all the single-CPUs I run it on.
This is exactly right. What most network/security professionals seem not to understand is that security is a curve of sorts. If you make it too difficult, people will find ways around it so that they can do their job. And you won't like the ways around it that they find.
Keep it simple. If you are going to run a security class, don't treat everyone in there like criminals. Talk about why security is important. Encourage pass phrases, to increase entropy without difficulty. Make it easy for people to follow the security measures and they won't find ways around it, thereby reducing your security to near zero levels despite all your hard work.

Even after hitting tons of major news sites, the challenge went unanswered.

Wouldn't it be easier to remove the canonical-census package?
I imagine it would wait until the user restarted Firefox...

How is this marked "Troll"? It seems very relevant to the discussion.

Now get off my lawn!
Southern California as well (LA/Orange County).
I just got a new job that pays well above $100,000. Of course, half the houses in my city are still over $1 million. Good thing I bought when I did.
In two-party consent states, security cameras typically are set to record without audio. The (alleged) problem was recording with audio.

Good luck proving that I circumvented the protection on my own DVDs in my own house...

I think this quote is a huge precedent...

Isn't that fortunate? Because it makes it more likely that English wins.
Hey, watch those 3 pluses buddy, you just made me get a NO CARRIER!

Usually grey and judgement.
They should be setting the evil bit...

Hey, we're not ALL female on Slashdot.
