I thought it would be interesting during hockey's free agency period, but it's caused nothing but problems. There have been more false reports this offseason than in the last 20 combined.
Is it just me, or was there somebody that tried to recover planes that went down in Greenland known as the Lost Squadron and they were expecting the ice to be 10 feet thick or less (according to scientists' best estimates). When they got there, they found that the planes were 268 feet deep.
This was between 1942 and 1992. Over that 50 years the ice level went up over 5 feet per year. That's not melting. If you're trying to tell me (like the article is) that it's really the crust is going up instead of the ice level, you're full of crap.
And, creationists actually have some very good explanations for the fossil record. In some cases they are far better than their evolutionary counterparts.
Creationists have no trouble explaining why there are ocean fossils mixed with land fossils in the same areas in Kansas.
Creationists can explain why the amount of helium found in deep rock is not all gone already (notice that it's becoming rare quickly and will soon all be gone).
Creationists can explain why the fossils appear suddenly, in their modern-day forms with very few extinct species. Evolutionists actually have a hard time with that.
Never forget that evolutionists are also religious. Richard Dawkins is anti-God more than he is a scientist. And Richard Lewontin even admitted that evolutionists will believe any absurdity necessary "for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door."
Well, there are newer routers that allow you to lock down the main portion but freely share a part of your internet connection. If people start doing this, this will, in essence, happen.
Of course, with the grief that would come from even being ACCUSED of child porn before it got sorted out, it really wouldn't be prudent to be such a nice guy...:-(
Street parking? Licenses to drive, hunt, fish, concealed carry, etc?
Street parking can be a limited resource and is usually only metered where it is. Charging for it increases the percentage of the population that can use the resource, thereby making it better for society at large. (People that park downtown everyday can usually beat the government rate, which works for them as well.) Hunting and fishing are again limited resources. Typically governments let people hunt and fish overpopulated species as much as they want. It's when they get to the low-population species that seasons and licenses start being talked about.
Licenses to drive try to ensure that everyone has a minimum skill set before getting behind the wheel and potentially killing others. That program takes a lot of manpower and resources. The licenses by comparison are really not that much.
Concealed carry has been abused so many times that people see it as a harm to society, even though it may be an overall good. But it's easy to parade the memory of a shooting victim around and get people to blame the weapon.
But the pay-to-speed law is different than any of these, in that it is not protected a limited resource AND it is not perceived as a good for society. It's downright blood money as speeding DOES increase fatal accidents in Nevada and there are statistics to back that up.
That's funny. It loads instantaneously (<1 sec) on Windows. And my computer doesn't crawl at all. And with Slashdot and the Sony Ericcson site open, my browser is sitting at 180 MB, which is really not that bad.
Actually, as a Netflix subscriber, I can tell you that the big problem with Blu-Ray discs is not scratches (they are actually more resilient to a scratch than DVD, presumably because of even greater error correction), but they get a ¼" crack near the edge when they go through the postal sorter.
I have had about 15 discs that I have had to return because of this problem. The Netflix rep said that our post office was one of the worst offenders at putting the discs through the machine which they have contractually agreed not to do. But the local post office attendants in my city are the biggest idiots I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with as a customer. And by idiot, I mean the classic definition. These people are WAY below 3 digits if you know what I mean.
Just because a lot of people like to read the Bible in 400 year old English, doesn't mean that's the only version. Try the New Living Translation, the Message or the New International Version.
Ah, but unlike the Klingon empire, the Bible has literally thousands if not tens of thousands of external references (names, places, archaeology, etc.), meaning that all the events in it took place in actual places with seemingly correct cultural descriptions. Even if you do not believe in the miracles, the rest of the setting of a Biblical dramatization can be very authentic.
No, they were just guest stars, but they owned the place and had indoor plumbing.
What about the earth being a sphere (Isa 40:22) and hanging on nothing (Job 26:7)...?
chindren?
Your kids aren't going to crush mine spelling like that!

The Tea Party. We're doomed.
You had to type LOAD? Atari had self-booting disks.
Make your own HD display hardware.
Oops, you can't.
I would argue that more people have been fed by Christianity than by excess money...
Stop! You're offending hundreds of Canadians...
Get them vaccinated! Duh!

You just described the history of the Atari 8-bit computer market.

Taking the title from Titanic... Now that I think about it, another James Cameron movie....
Well, you see, after a large meal...
Tell that to Enoch and Elijah...

Really? It sure doesn't look that way:
http://goeurope.about.com/od/europeanmaps/l/bl-country-size-comparison-map.htm
And this map doesn't even include Alaska...which is almost half the size of the US mainland.
Regardless, Europe (the continent) and USA (the country) are both approximately 3.8 million miles, or roughly the same.

Only certain hardware would hang...
They just got done with a major campaign against overpaid city employees in Southern California starting with the City of Bell.

Modern Bible
It's only audio that's prohibited, not video. There's a reason why these devices usually have no sound.
