    Just like every news story. Anyone who thinks they are getting an accurate full story from any news report is a fool. I treat the news more like a comedy show now. Unfortunately, it's the most un-funny comedy show I've ever seen... except for maybe the American version of Coupling...

The fact that people even argue about this says much about the human psyche...

    Well, then the residents of FL have either chosen this, or elected people who have chosen it, and have not un-elected them and elected new people who will un-choose it. Therefore, FL is getting exactly what they wanted, by majority rule. Sometimes it's easy to forget that the people actually do have power and do run this country, but unfortunately most of the people are dumb and lazy, and place far too much power in the hands of their representatives...

    Of course, the royalties are first put towards marketing expenses, production costs, daily hookers for the producer, and anything else the record label could conceivably bill before either the songwriter or the artist gets anything.

    Which are exactly the terms the artists agreed to when they signed the shoddy contracts.

    Often the response is "just use solar" and that's fine, but if we have solar why not simply use the electricity directly in the car or house or other device? There's no need to add the additional water/hydrogen step.

    You need to store that solar energy somewhere, and our current technology can store energy at a higher density in hydrogen than in batteries or capactors.

    Just the fact that people can detect fatty acids in their non-fat milk doesn't imply that there is an actually taste receptor for fat. Could also be the change of texture of the milk or activation of other taste receptors by the fatty acids. I would only call this a specific taste when the associated taste receptor protein is identified.

    I'll notify the British Journal of Nutrition that their published research is invalid.

    Just like the automobile replaced the horse, some sort of flying device will eventually replace the automobile. The trick is to not issue licenses like candy the way we do with driver's licenses in the US. Eventually we'll have two tiers of licenses, air and ground. The smart people will have air licenses, and the morons will have ground licenses.

    I'm really glad to see that someone found a way to make human waste safe for crops.

    That has been a big issue in general for farmers in countries where there are less than adequate water safety facilities.

    It's hard to afford fertilizer in war-torn or otherwise de-stabilized countries when you have a bunch of kids to feed.

    Except that using human waste for fertilizer is actually pretty dangerous, unless you do it extremely carefully.

    Not only that, but some applications don't need to be secure. Who cares if Minesweeper has a buffer overflow? It runs in user space, and if the operating system works like it should, that isn't a problem. If not, it's the OS that's insecure...

    This is true. Even a horse can suffer from unintended acceleration. They generally don't disintegrate, however.
