If I was going to buy a console exclusively based on online play I would get an Xbox 360. I'm going to get a Wii because I want to play fun games with my wife and kid.
Cheap companies using old software is what caused the Y2K problem, and it ended up costing them billions and billions of dollars to "upgrade". Companies need to realize that moving FORWARD, while it might cost a little money, is almost ALWAYS a win. Hanging on to old outdated bullshit systems and software might help the bottom line today, but will end up costing 100x as much in the end...
I've never seen a single one of these videos where the guy gets pulled over, gets out of the car calmly, abidingly put his hands behind his back to get cuffed, and THEN gets beat for absolutely no reason.
Why doesn't MS just stick to what it does well: making a decent Office Suite and a less-than-decent Operating System?
Because of greedy shareholders. It's not enough for them to receive a nice dividend, they demand growth. Oh, and also it's contrary to Borg prinicples.
Why does that defeat the purpose? What if every article was tagged with "article". Does that defeat the purpose? It might be redundant, yes, but I don't think it totally defeats the purpose.
Did he say "all of those websites" and "all of the data" that the guy visited? No. He said specifically webmail from specific vendors, which in all likelihood is never cached on the user's hard drive.
It's not the government's job to sort out your stupid business problems, Chad. It's not the taxpayer's responsibility to pay to fix your copyright violations, Chad.
Are modern console hardware designers getting sloppy?
I don't think consumers care much about power consumption. If I can design something cheaper and faster, but hotter, and the consumer doesn't care, why wouldn't I do it? Lower bottom line. Higher profits. Booyah! More Ferraris for my garage.
I'm glad the people who invented email and SMTP had the genius of foresight enough to make their protocol complete shit for the benefit of the hoardes of future spammers... Thanks, fuckwads
I call bullshit on that. I don't think that would hold up in court -- them telling you that you can't install the OS in a VM. What if my computer has a hardware microkernel and in effect is a hardware VM, then I can't install it at all on my computer? BS. I don't think a general-purpose license agreement can stipulate something like that. That would be like Sony selling a DVD and saying you can only play it on Sony hardware, or only on component DVD players, not computers. Again, BS. And in any event, I don't see how they can enforce it.
People/other objects not affected as not resonating at 6.4Mhz
Speak for yourself, meatbag!
What about the company whose logo is the Earth?

Isn't that the exact same launch list as the PS2?
A matching mug and oven mitt set!
Can someone explain the importance of a blue laser over a regular handheld red laser of the same power that sells for ~$20?
It's blue.
Yeah, there are 900 games you would never want to play.
That kind of creepy doesn't wash off

This is a perfect example of how Microsoft just doesn't "get it". I know they THINK they get it. But they don't.
Hah. You mean they pre-sold-out all two-dozen PS3s they actually managed to manufacture and ship at launch?
for the official Playstation Rootkit Service software upgrade.

Logically a band covering another song in a large venue for a paying crowd should pay some type of usage fees
Why is this logical?

We read about these busts quite frequently, but I wonder what percentage of these guys are actually convicted and jailed.

Is not to play

Because that would make too much sense for The Internet

I thought that read "a trip to the USA"
