This happened to me once when I was on a shitty host. I re-uploaded all my files, and they became reinfected. I suspected something larger was afoot, and found my sitename and password on a Chinese forum, along with everyone else from my host. This wasn't the operating systems fault:)
I have a Japanese PS3, and there are plenty of UK Blu-Ray discs that won't play in it:(
The only thing not region coded on the PS3 are PS3 games, and even then, different regions are treated differently. The US version of Resistance for example plays with no blood whatsoever on my console because it detects the Japanese region, where the blood was cut from the game.
I think the problem is that 64-bit is still not ready for prime time. My friend bought Vista 64 and has had no end of driver and hardware problems. Luckily someone pointed out to me how bad things still were before I built my machine, and I've had no problems... well, apart from my 4gb only showing up as 3.5gb:)
lol, is this for reals? I went to NYC for a break last year, the first time I'd been to the states in 10 years. I was disappointed I didn't see any *really* fat people, but then we never left Manhattan, and now it all makes sense:)
Memory Stick is doing pretty well, and just changed form factor over the years. SD-HC is an annoying 'advance', and I have a bunch of useless cards from now dead formats (e.g. MMC)
As for trumpeting a format, how about the PS1 making great use of CD (over the N64s costly cartridge), and the PS2 bringing DVD to the masses (whereas dreamcast was using custom discs that were pirated in nano-seconds anway).
I have both HD-DVD and Blu Ray players thanks to the two big consoles. The important distinction is BR is included with a PS3, HD-DVD is a clunky add-on for the 360. The PS3 will eventually dominate the console market, and will eventually be as cheap as the PS2. Blu Ray would be a cert, but the time for these things to happen is against Sony.
Why should a 'stock' configuration be 'pathetic'. Apple are controlling the hardware and software, so they should sell something perfectly usable.
My opinion is biased btw, as I bought a mac mini when they first came out to dip my toe into Apple's new OS. It came with 256mb as standard and ran like a dog.
Now, the summary makes Vista sound like it's slower than XP, and it simply isn't. I have a dual boot XP and Vista, and Vista is actually way faster than XP for starting up and the first few essential apps (firefox, mail, winamp etc). I'm using Vista as my main OS now, the XP install is very bare, and still I'm watching the hourglass for 30 seconds or so before any app becomes runnable in a meaningful way.
The only difference in hardware is the dedicated 4gb SDHC card I have for readyboost, but I guess overall Vista's caching and preloading really does have an effect.
This is exactly the state of the UK dance scene. We have a channel called MTV Dance that plays this sort of stuff all times of the day. I had video in mind here as evidence, but actually check this site out, and it's 50/50 there'll be hot chicks gyrating in it: http://www.internetdj.com/watch_video.php
I know I'm getting old when I actually think these sorts of videos have gone too far.
I use synctoy to sync photos around all my PCs (from a central Windows Home Server) and i think the option you are looking for is 'synchronize' which goes both ways when it has to (i.e. I load new photos on any client, and those will get pushed back, while I still get any new stuff from the server).
Oh OK, you're one of those guys who win arguments by quoting ad nauseam. And your basically telling me I'm wrong and you're right, on the basis that you don't agree with me:)
The only thing that riled me was using a retarded kid as an example, and then saying, "it's ok he's stupid". That's like me telling you some story about a guy falling down, and then closing with "Oh it's ok, he was disabled anyway". If you can't see why this is insensitive, then there is something wrong in *your* brain. (And he's meant to be your friend as well!)
Firstly, I think the whole retarded bit of your comment is unnecessary, regardless of it being true; it's just insensitive and insulting. Well done for calling a retarded kid a Sony Fanboy. You sir, are just as bad for being a Sony Basher.
Stepping out of the current platforms, look at it from this way: He's a gamer, he's upgraded his console. That has seen him gain some tangible benefits, he can continue to play his old favourite games, and he's also ready to play the newer games as well. That's win-win-win. (Sure, it's an expensive win, but meh)
Looking specifically at the PS3, it has a lot of benefits over a PS2, even if you only played old games on it. PSN for starters.
When people buy a new HDTV, are they idiots to ever watch standard definition again because they could have done that on their old TV?
Hehe, when I went to Cuba, people seemed to think no Americans there was a plus point:)
I loved it there, nice country, great people, and only a teensy hint of communist propaganda.
I really like Napster's subscription. I don't use it much to be honest, but it's nice to know I can listen to pretty much any song I want very quickly. When I'm bored, it's nice to browse the new additions as well.
I also subscribe to a DVD rental company and a separate game rental company. After really running out of storage for boxes, and seeing how pathetic the resale is on old movies and games these days, I really think rental is the modern way to experience all these things.
Plus, a touch on the morbid side, but you're never going to own anything for very long in grand scheme of things...
I live in an apartment which means I get no say in satellite placement or cable installation etc. However, don't give up! Sky have a special team that will talk to the freehold owner/management company of your building if you don't have Sky. With various hidden/camouflaged dishes available and some distribution meaning only one dish required for the whole complex, I'm sure you could arrange something.
Sky HD isn't up to much at the moment, so don't feel like you're missing out:) A couple of HD movie channels and a half-baked 'anytime' service do not constitute a decent HD service. Even BBC HD is lame.
Surely this isn't true any more? People have been saying this for ever, and it was believable in 2003...
I realise my friends and family are mostly nerds, but most of them have HDTVs, and this is in the UK, where apparently our uptake of HD is lower than the US.

See if you're posting the same thing on your 49th birthday...

I hope you're trolling. We watched T2 again a couple of weeks ago and it was still friggin' awesome!

I like the sound of that! /looks for winamp plugins...
But then you've just nuked your source of food!
I went to A&E last month in the UK, and was seen in *under* 45 minutes.
Hehe, when I went to Cuba, people seemed to think no Americans there was a plus point :)

Maybe it's possible other life just want nothing to do with us :)
Sorry to read about your encounter, but thanks for sharing.
Seven thumbs up :)
What? $5-$10k isn't that much really for a Tron table... if you're a proper nerd that is :)
lol, that is so true.
