If the landlord will allow a dish install, they're reasonably priced (£25pcm for all channels, excluding movies and sports), and can also provide your landline + broadband/fibre. We pay ~£70pcm for Sky, Movies, landline, and 40mb fibre (which has no download caps or traffic shaping).
Alternatively, you can pull out all the indoor Virgin Media cables (assuming they've haphazardly tacked them to the skirting boards) to the outside of the property (where they should be joined with a threaded 'F' barrel coupler), and they'll have to run them to where you want them during the install. However, their TV packages are somewhat confusing, generally more expensive than the Sky equivalent, and they'll charge more for the subscription if you don't take a phoneline as part of the deal.
Failing that, buy a 20m aerial extension kit and a Freeview HD box from Amazon, and pray that you get a good signal.
consists of Star Trek, Serenity (which I also have on DVD and HD DVD), and Doctor Who Series 6. The reason it's so small is because I'll only buy a Blu Ray if: a. it's on offer, 2. it's a film that has enough awesome special effects to justify being in HD, and d. I don't already own it.

I installed the update with an open mind, and proceeded to explore. After roughly 30 seconds, my initial curiosity was replaced with anger. The whole 3d panels interface isn't particularly intuitive, and my existing heroes theme looks like utter arse now, with over 70% of the artwork covered up by the pointless grey 'floor' Hopefully, they'll give us an option of having the blades back in a future update.
It seems like the only point of the update was to get some use out of the money they'd spent on designing Aero/MCE
I'd argue for restored privileges, if that fails, ask for severance, and if that fails, fall back on option C. Should it result in option C, make sure you turn up for work late, drunk, and unshaven (assuming this is de rigueur in your workplace anyway)
no, i don't think we're talking about the streaming system. iPlayer is basically an application window that loads an IE control. The elements of the application that you see are actually written in XHTML/CSS/JavaScript. As for Kontiki, it's actually available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X
its a very valid point, but the flaw in your logic is that you imply that people, more specifically, the content producers and management, aren't inherently stupid.
we all know that iPlayer content SHOULD be DRM-free, but unfortunately the powers that be don't think like that, as they're too worried about people outside of the UK being able to view the content, instead of worrying that everyone inside it has access to it
