    Actually the detainees at Gitmo are neither innocent nor guilty, those are legal terms and they have not even been charged with crimes. They are just being held indefinitely without a trial because someone labeled them a "terrorist". But I'm sure they will be relaesed when the "War on Terror" is over, and the US has won. Oh, wait...

    Oh really? And when will the "War on Terror" be over? So just to be crystal clear you have no problem with the government locking people up without ever charging them with a crime, and being able to hold them indefinitely?? Scary... Governmental checks and balances are there for a reason. Maybe you should read up on the history of dictators before swearing such ignorant allegiances..


    P.S. Not that I would expect much critical thingking for someone who states on their website that their dream is "to travel the world and eat at every Hooters® restaurant location world wide."

    Speak for yourself. I learned how to phreak because I needed to call a BBS or two that was located 1200 miles away from me (and as a 14 year old I couldn't afford long distance charges) for the SOLE purpose of getting help with games... So let that be a lesson to all of you - don't say video games don't teach kids anything, they taught me how to commit felonies!

    Who cares what Gates gets out of it personally, he still does donate money to charity. He doesn't have to, and yes he could put it all under his mattress if he wanted. Of all the things to knock Bill Gates for, donating money is not at the top of the list.

    All that breaks is automatic updates. You can still manually download the updates. If you are smart enough to figure out how to get a pirate copy of Windows, you should be smart enough to figure out how to manually patch. Don't want to? Then get a legit version...

    And yes, I am aware of a small percentage of legitimate users who had their licences invalidated. If that is the case, a simple 5 minute call to MS will have you up and rolling again. But don't try to blow smoke up anyone's ass and claim most of the disabled versions were legit.

    Yes, updating is as simple as a single click. It may take a while, but it isn't complicated. If you can't afford a couple hunndred megs of storage, broadband connection, and a firewall, you shouldn't complain about getting owned after 25 seconds online. You can also get SP2 on a CD mailed to you directly from Microsoft .

    Yes, for the most part. You see when MS comes out with a new OS, it is hard NOT to get that OS pre-installed, and a bitch to have to re-install an older OS on every single new machine you buy. Try to buy a new system that has XP - MS isn't exactly encougraging OEM's to sell their older OS. When XP came out, the University where I work adopted it very quickly.

    If they only looked at a few sites, you may have a point. But taking numbers from 40,000 sites it would be hard to easily "skew the numbers wildly". Sure a very small percentage may have their browser set to report a differnt OS, but how much of the "computer population" do you think that would represent??

    Well, according to your own poll, about 5% of people use Vista at your job. So maybe the 2% figure may not be too far off for general population?
