I would have no problems with updated graphics. However, adding more gameplay elements to an already damn-near perfectly balanced cutthroat game would have to be extensively playtested, IMNSHO.
Even then, there are better cards with the *NECESSARY* audio I/O ports need for comparable or cheaper prices.
At the time, the inputs on the SBLive (for the price) were quite good compared to the competition. However, there were a few inputs I had absolutely no use for. Besides a line in and a mic input, and occassionaly MIDI (which a card is not even need for thes days, aren't there USB 2.0 to MIDI connectors now?), I didn't need anything else. Yeah there was the optical out (why??) and SPDIF (which is good if i needed digital audio transfer... i guess, which i didn't), but those were not nearly as commonly used as the other inputs. Maybe, these days, the demand for those types of ports are greater?
Plus for overall audio/recording use, their Audigy 4 line is NOT signigficantly better than say the class SBLive 5.1 card they released 6 or so years ago. (ok, Audigy 4 really really for reals does 24 bit now, but, honestly, a lot of mixing software can do that internally, no need for an audio card, per-se, to accomplish that). Of course, there are other brands out there better for "pro" use than Creative these days.
So, 30 year-olds require games NOT saving princesses and fighting koopas and anything similar to the ilk? I'm 35, and I still enjoying doing it... and shooting colored balls on a track, and making headshots in an FPS, and console and hard-core RPGs, and party games, and dance games, and rolling a ball around and sticking everything i can to it, and jumping on things, and 2D as well as 3d games, and.. and.. it goes on.
Just because one has reached an "older" age doesn't mean the taste in certain game types always diminish. It changes, maybe (and in your case: change to more "mature" titles, whatever that means) and mutates... but, by golly, *some* of us looking for "games for a 30 year old", are simply looking for games that are simply fun, regardless of their genre and presentation.
Maybe, it's just this particular 30+ year old (i.e. me) that likes to play a *variety* of fun games!
I bought this book straight from Rob when it premiered at OVGE (Oklahoma Video Game Expo). The memories it brought back were almost overwhelming during parts of the read (which I did in one marathon reading night).
Ok, I *think* I have your point now. You mean ANY hype from any source. Not specifically hype from the company whose product/service is in question. Probably should have RTFA while I was at it too...
The funny thing is... Nintendo never confirmed or denied the $199 price point. History and "ANALysts" propagated that hype. All Nintendo said was "before Thanksgiving" and "No more than $250"
Guess what... they kept their word on those two points!
OOOH, *I'll* tell yuo why Johnny can't code

Why Johnny Can't Code
·
· Score: 4, Funny
Because Johnny is an idiot:
* Johnny is the one at your company that has been working there for 10 years
* No one fires him becuase he "knows a lot of things about the process"
* Johnny talks about his technological exploits
* Eveyone else has to debug and fix Johnny's bugs
* He never asks the other developers any question on how to do something, for fear he will look inferior (too late Johhny!)
* AND WHEN YOU NEED A FREAKING IP ADDRESS FROM HIS PC???
You: "Johnny, can you get me your IP Address?" Johnny fumbles around his desktop, going through all the Control Panel Options
You: "'ipconfig' Johnny"
Johnny: "EYE PEE CONFIG?"
You: "Yes, you know, the command prompt?"
Johnny: "What?"
You: "Never mind... what the status on your code module?"
Johnny: "Module??"
You: *head explodes*

The Last Ninja series... by good ol' System3?
MULE would be awsome for the Wii (if EA bothers to let it happen), as it has 4 controllers and MULE is great with 4 players!
Hey, we do what we can!
Yeah, but playing is more fun.

only for a pointer to a class instance/struct. for straight up heap-based class and struct expressions... we still use "."... a LOT

"...and send one hopping the BBS 'net (sorry, I forget what it was called)..."
Ahhh.... FidoNet!!

Maybe they spay and/or neuter them before they are "shipped" to their owners?
I call that "using interfaces" and "strict polymorphism" (and "bunnies"!!!)
you dropped out???
*OR* No Deal??
That's right, The Banker IS calling you a "sucka" right now!
Dads destroy FunBots
Nov. 19 *minus* Sept. 19 *equals* TWO MONTHS. 200% is now considered a "little bit more"?
No, I didn't read TFA, not after that line
(ooooh Flamey Flamey -1!!)
instead of "more funner" it should be "the bestest more funnarest" ;)
Nah, I bet those were the words of THE CHEATER.
See kids: IF YOU cheat at Halo 2 OR become a Slashdot Editor, your grammar skills *will* slip.
(There's a moral here, but damned if I could figure it out!)
As long as Spock still calls Bones "Illogical" first, i'll be....
OH NEVERMIND!!
"Woo, tangent."
Wait for the MadCatz version ;)
