I think there will be a bust, but only in a certain PORTION of the world wide web. The first wave of actually useful sites that survived the first bust (and children of such successful online ventures) that do generate revenue I think will be sticking around. Web development personnel are building more and more intranet applications (larger demand than maybe 5 years ago IMO), so the job market may take a slight plunge, but I don't think nearly as bad as before. Yes, investors will get skittish, but I am hoping only skitting on the "OMG we know how to get lots of people here but, um we have nothing to really sell or generate money" sites... and continue to support (at the very least) the tried and true of the web or at least someone with a freaking business model that doesn't involve: 1) Make Site 2) ??? 3) Profit.
Just an opinion and by no means am I ANY expert in business and economic matters. I just know how to program stuff.
...like maybe $150 at the MOST - i'll stick with buying the small external USB harddrives. Ok so the hard drives are bigger, but they still fit in most of my pockets *and* I get 80 gig.... for easily less than $100.
Downloadable games, IIRC, do not require an XBOX gold membership... just requires XBOX Live marketplace credit (and a place to store the downloaded game, of course).
The DS browser comes with a GBA-looking cart (an expansion module) that will come with extra RAM for the browsing experience. They have DS and DS-Lite version of the browser (the main software is the same, but the physical size of the expansion cart is different, so it will match the physical profile of the DS Lite so thart doesn't "stick out" while in use).
Also it is based on Opera 8, should have full Javascript and CSS capabilities (of course no Java or Flash). Opera devs have confirmed that it should be to run any AJAX-enabled site (like GMail for example). Also, because of limited space, no tabbed browsing.
Hell, if they pack in extras... i'll go up to $250 myself. But, hopefully $199-$219 for the base system.
Sonic is a Sega franc.... wait, you've heard this one before???
Yeap, and Metroid but no Super Metroid?
I thought "The Man Trap" was an idiom for "Marriage"
That's kinda like saying: My Toyota keys won't work in Hondas. They won't start, so they MUST suck! *sheesh*
I would love to play the new Sam & Max, however, is the GameTap service worth its cost? Is their current library of games decent?

Non-fiction by Carl Sagan? *Now* you just joking.
now, now... don't you mean... "SUPPLIES!" ?
Hence the concept of z-buffering or ordering objects in a "depth plane" so to speak.
"We'll also have mass-produced flying cars."
Yeah... but you'll have to lose a foot to get that
Yep, I certainly use common word "pod" in everyday speech.
;)
example usage I use all the time: "My family was hatched from pods."
...and, of course, the GC controller support was originally intended so people can play GC games on the Wii
GP2X anyone? cheaper, and more expandable to boot IIRC
"...Apple's copy-protection technology makes media companies into its servants..."
...and Apple would have a problem with this why? Don't they want EVERYONE to be their servent?
GREAT! Then they'll become AskAbout.com and really make the interwebs useless! ;)
Funny, I live in Tulsa, and there is one about 2 miles away from me :)

"Level 42 Epic Programmer"
geez, then get Mono then, they have an implementation of .NET and ASP.NET for many platforms
Also, i don't think a Java VM will be provided at all, at least with DS version (the Wii version is still mostly a mystery)

"Spending the rest of the night duct-taped in a supply closet just doesn't seem like all that much fun to me :)"
HA! Says you!
