Purely anecdotal, but a colleague at work has one and in 18 months about 1/4 of the car other than the chassis has been replaced, I'm not kidding.
Not because they failed as such, but each time it has a bit of a squeak or at the checks each 6 months they always replace stuff.
Sometimes small stuff like the wing mirrors squeaking when they adjust, to parts of the drive and control systems that are starting to give of diagnostic warnings. Brakes, hubs, bits of interior, all replaced at various points for free.

This leads to two conclusions, they have serious quality control issues at the factory and it is no wonder they cannot make a decent profit when they replace so much of a car under warranty.

Only criticism that could stand up is perhaps the length. Could it have been a sharper story at 30 or 60 minutes less? The tradeoff to that is 30 or 60 minutes less spend in the Bladerunner universe we waited a long time to see again.

  7. Going to mars is a waste of time, it is dick waving. The fundamentals of space travel at current speeds are established, you need a big enough can holding air and water plus time, and the boosters to get the big can off our rock. Difficult technical challenges but understood.
Living on a surface without atmosphere is not solved, and ultimately must be. Permanent colonisation of the Moon represents an actual leap forward in our ability to as a species to survive, a sight-seeing trip to another rock does not.

  8. The target for NZ is Rattus Rattus and the Brushtail possum, they are the main predators that raid nests for both eggs and nestlings. The technique has so far been tested in mice but they are not the first concern. Stoats, weasels, feral cats are all issues in NZ but the rats and possums are the big targets since they don't just go after adult birds. Hedgehogs have been seen raiding eggs, but they prefer slugs and the population is small so they might be able to live alongside the native species with no major impact.
Another big problem is actually German Wasps, they eat the honeydew that the birds need, significantly harming breeding success.

  11. When you come from a lower income you are quite possibly the first and only person from your family to go to University, or maybe even finish high school. Even after doing well in High School you have no clue what to expect, and no reference points. The idea that even as a graduate you may be paid more than your parents combined is hard to get your head around for doing something you enjoy studying.
Having to do part time work to cover the costs your parent cannot doesn't help, but more than anything else there is the nagging doubt that you shouldn't be there and should go do manual labour and retail like your family was raised to do. You wonder when you will get caught and told to go back where you came from, so you tend to keep your head down and not make best use of the support systems the Uni already has in place for everybody.

You just got to be a stubborn bastard and keep at it, but any encouragement does go a long way since you just don't know how the system works.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/...

That is strong grounds for a refund and they really do not want to get the consumer protection regulators involved, or generate bad will for release day reviews. The KS may have funded development, but additional sales are needed to keep the servers running and review score will decide if that happens since it is not planned to be a subscription game.
The game looks great but I will still be surprised if they are in the very small % of server based games that still have their servers online a couple of years later.

By CV2 HDMI2 will be established so the window where it may happen is very small.

OR delivered exactly what they said they would, and only a couple of months late which is good going for something 10x oversubscribed. These muppets are still failing to deliver items to many backers 2 years later. Not really in the same category. Additionally, if you think any hardware startup capabable of a global market is not going to get bought out soon after early development that is somewhat naive. On top of that OR had already pulled in 75-90 million or so of VC and would have needed to get 2-3 times more for a full budget to compete with the number of competitors who started popping up. How much of the orginal stock do you think they would have still held by then anyway? not much.
