This is like a teacher telling you to copy every file in a folder , and because he only knows how to do that by right click-copy-paste , you get detention for using Ctrl-A - Ctrl-C - Ctrl-V .

There is no good or bad license in there , it just depends on your needs . I don't think there's a talent shortage , it's more like a shortage of new ideas . Basically , if you think of an application you could use , there's a good chance it already exists . And it's a lot more fun working on something you helped create , than on improving something someone else wrote .

Well, at least the smart ones will buy Windows PCs for their students, since that will best prepare them for their future. i tend to disagree :
    • Since no-one can tell the future , it's better to teach student the basics of multiple OS , so they know what's available , instead of being slaves to 1 product .
    • There are linux distros wich bundle tons of educational software , making it easier for the schools to get what they need

There is no way FSF can 'eradicate' non-free software . Using GPL only prevents non-free software from 'eradicating' free software . The only reason to use it , is to make sure nobody can take your work , change one line of code , and then release it under a propiertary lincense and make money of your hard work .

No one is forcing you to use license all your programs under GPL . You can/should use the license you prefer , acording to what you need .
