    So, my point still stands. Outside of religious extremists, nobody's telling you what you can and cannot eat.

    It's telling those people who require religious slaughter to make meat edible for them that they can't eat meat. Duh.

    So, you can still eat meat, but just not the magical meat that your religious leader tells you that you have to eat.

    So how is this anything like telling you that you can't eat something?

    In the context of the article, it seems to me "overqualified" means - you bought an education which you cannot use / do not need for your work.

    Or, it can mean that the only jobs available for most college grads are shitty jobs.

    How in the world do you use the percentage of students who are overqualified for their first job as a measure of the value of an education instead of as a critique of the corporate workplace?

    There is a subset of militant vegans (well, they're not really militant, they just won't STFU) who want everyone else to stop eating meat.

    And they show up alive? I'm always a little amazed when people get live animals shipped to them. I have a friend who's an urban beekeeper who gets live bees fed-exed to them. What a country.

    If even the staunchly illiberal publications like New York Times and The Atlantic [theatlantic.com] complain about there being too many grievances, it must, indeed, be a real problem.

    A problem, they helped facilitate, I might add. Because, when people are simply pursuing happiness, one can get a (sorely mistaken!!) impression, everything is right in the land of Capitalism — so, if causes for real complaints are gone, we must dig deeper to rouse up new ones. Somebody complimented your demeanour? They must be RACIST [wordpress.com]!.. Girls learn belly-dancing — to stay fit and please their boyfriends? They are appropriating [salon.com]! And so on.

    I'm glad you were able to air your grievance about people with grievances.
