I know that it's been a pretty slow month as far as news goes, but please. This is the 500th "Vista Beta preview/review/OMG PONIES!" article that has been on/. this week and the 2nd Tom's Hardware ad I've had to NOT read. This is crap. The fact that a Ubuntu endorsement came with the summary is just silly as well.
Try again when Vista is about to hit the new Dell machines and then we will see what it can do. Enough of the "Vista is going to be the Suxor!" and "Yet ANOTHER look at M$ Vista Beta 5,000,000XP++"!
A small, well trained group of code auditors will be far more effective at finding coding errors than a large group of amateurs - and they'll do it even in code they have no personal interest in.
So THAT explains why M$ had to rewrite a large portion of Vista!
You need to stop thinking about it so much. Our number systems simply provide labels for amounts. There have been many different ways to represent numbers throughout history. We just happen to use, what is it called, Arabic decimal. There was also Sexagesimal used by the Sumerians (quick search for base 60 brings that up) as well as the octal and hexadecimal systems that are useful for decimal to binary and binary to decimal conversions as well as binary representations. If you're into *nix then you've probably become accustomed to octal, and have probably dealt with hexadecimal while programming with assembly.
In other words, don't get too worried about how the numbers are represented. Two rocks on the ground is still 10 base 2 rocks on the ground.
As Gigs said, so too shall I say, but with google's help.
ternary: Ternary is the base numeral system. Ternary digits are known as trits (trinary digit), analogous to bit. This system is also known as trinary.
As far as 1 to 10 ratings go, 7 is 0 for all intents. Given that a reviewer has to weigh commercial interests when doing the review, or never be able to do a review from that source again, you can adjust the rating scale appropriately by simple starting at 7. Since 7 is 0, 10 is three and we now have a much more meaningful scale. Anything under 7 is fuel for those long winter nights.
Most disabled surely are not second-rate, but I challenge you to find someone first-rate working at McDonalds or Wal-Mart in the United States.
No
It's payback for those high school days. Don't worry about it.
Makes you wonder why they don't have rfid tags and a cappuccino machine.
Nobody plays Solitaire and Minesweeper
You obviously don't have relatives.
Nuke the border states. Problem solved.
Engineering. Not poor judgement.
No, but there is that sound of rushing wind when they open their mouths.
AT&T to charge for Google's M$ killer. Sun && Apple to join the feeding frenzy. Will this help Ubuntu?
So, your loop never executes?
Someday there will be an open source virus, and that will be the day that PCs all over the world scream in agony, horror, and defeat.
I think that is about as comprehensive as anyone will ever be.
it's almost ready to be hurled against a hard surface too.
Some of us consider that an upgrade.

I know you spend 1/3 of your life asleep. It still doesn't tell me anything about you.
So, when are we going to see a cube shrink so I can have my Nano-Satellites?

Did I call it a NES?

I guess this means we are all right.
Is this where the techie fight clubs use axes for a day?
A stick may be a stick, but a well placed bokken will send anyone to the hospital.
31 in base 3
I don't know if you realize this, but there is no 3 in trinary. The representation you seek is 101 base 3 == 10 base 10
Then you really didn't do anything then.
