Releasing a new OS before the hardware is available is one of the most ass-backwards things in the entire ass-backwards history of the Amiga. And I think it's pretty shocking that they don't support the add-on PowerPC cards for classic Amiga hardware, since IIRC that's what they were developing on. I guess they want their new hardware to sell (if and when...), but you'd think an OS with so little to commend it in this day and age would want to pick up every possible scrap of userbase, no?
What do you drink, Jack Daniels by the pint? Most people I know, even lightweights, can handle an aperitif or two, a couple of glasses of wine with a meal, maybe a brandy or whisky after, without being particularly drunk. So I guess it depends what you count as one drink, and how fast you're chucking them down.
The author mentions K. Eric Drexler and his book Engines of Creation, but I'm wondering if he actually read it. TFA says "Folks like Ray Kurzweil, Bill Joy and Eric Drexler have raised some alarms, but they are too dazzled by the complexity and power of human cybersystems, devices and networks to see it coming. Well, I took Engines of Creation to be one great big warning almost from start to finish about the same kind of thing this article talks about, so what am I missing? He's invented some new words for stuff, but other than that...

You're out of date, I'm afraid. As of the current version, windows Mobile 5, introduced I believe over a year ago, data storage is on non-volatile flash memory, no data is lost when the battery dies anymore.
However I still use a Windows Mobile 2003 device, but I've never lost any data, you get plenty of warning about low battery, you have a backup battery, and you sync all your data with your PC anyway. So enough with the FUD, okay.
MySaifu is compatible with java programs, but it isn't a midlet environment, which is what you need to run Opera Mini. See this pocketpcmag blog post for full info on running Opera Mini on various devices.
On a trip to the states a while back, in a dimly lit strip club, I accidentally gave several $20 bills to a stripper instead of $1s, got a bit more than I bargained for. Wouldn't say it was a waste exactly, but you can't claim that shit back on expenses!
The poster sounds like the kind of guy that would respond to news of terminal cancer by starting a 40-a-day smoking habit. Personally I'm not a fan of the "it's better to burn out than to fade away" philosophy. As long as you can drag your arthritic claws over a mouse or trackball, you can play turn-based strategy games, so you should never have to quit as such, just change what you play. Plus a few years down the line, you'll probably be able to get a neural interface and be back in business;).
I get plenty of right-arm exercise in front of my PC, but I could do with something that works on my left arm, and preferably doesn't make you go blind;)

We know from historical precedent that the masses can be talked into doing seriously unpleasant stuff by suitably persuasive individuals and organisations. If your argument is that it isn't possible for lawmakers to target suitably dangerous messages of race/religious hate, personally I'm willing to give it a shot, especially since living in a democracy, I get a say in what the lawmakers do.
How about some of us who havent read his books consider buying a copy?
Why should I? Fair play, if I come across one of the guys books, and it looks like something I want to read, then I'll buy it. But the tone of your statement above makes it sound like we owe the guy a favour, and I don't see why that should be the case.
