Too true! SanDisk - while its a nice product, doesn't have the name recognition. It makes me wonder if this product is going to get any lift off. Christmas is coming, and I'll be surprised to see many a Zune in stockings.
Actually, the portability of the iPod is convenient and the quality isn't bad. When I'm on a plane or a long car ride, the iPod is perfect for these applications. It has a bright screen, good sound, and I can pause it whenever I need. I have ported over many of my dvd's (oh no! DCMA grey area!!) and even my PVR on the computer to the iPod.
Does it replace my TV? No. Is it easy to use and convenient? Yes.
We are using MS:SCE (beta2) and have prohibited this 'update' from doing out to the computers. Our current software packages are not stable with this release, and we cant afford to risk any down time.
Thank you for the correct link!!!
Now I need to go clean up my desk... in a moment of stupidity, I decided that dropping a mentos into my diet coke would be funny.......
Damn.
Isn't that kinda her point? She is trying to underscore the fact that the major O/S's haven't utilized these features and that someone else might... and it could be for less than noble reasons.
I would say that few, very few are actually using the hardware virtualization. For that matter, VMWare (or other VM products) are still not considered main-stream. This author is accurate on her assertion that this technology may have been released early.... at least in the extent that there is little other technology that makes use of it. But honestly, isn't that what drives a market? I know that the jury is still out on this specific technology, and it may never see its full potential... this isn't to say its a bad idea though. Something else may prove to be better.
We are starting to implement VM within our environment, but it is slow going. We do not have anything in live production yet. I know that we are behind when it comes to this, but if we cant put VM into a live enviro, how the heck can we utilize the Hardware virtualization properly??? I know I'm not alone in this.
I find myself downloading from iTunes especially if the song is older, or in a genre that I normally dont listen to. Yet, I will admit, the quality of the songs, is much worse.
But shouldn't we be slightly happy that a music exec is looking towards the future? Even if he conclusions are wrong, the statement is becoming more accurate.
Anything that restricts lawyers... well it can't be a horrible thing. I know, its a flippant attitude, but the reality is, most lawyers waste crap loads of time. Blogging, especially in an effort to gain more business should be watched just as other advertisements.
the consumer wins. I was an AMD fan boy for the past few years, but like a true Chicago fan, I am rooting for the other team because they are up. AMD may strike back again, maybe not, but this price war has really benefited many of us.
Your right, this is THE pressing issue. And the politians have completely ignored it. Yes, it is completely ethical, and even needed to properly get the attention of our political representatives. They must understand that this is a completely flawed system. That poster is posting nothing more than a compilation that is readily available on the internet. The voting machines are flawed and he is only organizing the readily available info.
Im going to download Ubuntu again! If I would just install it and leave it on a machine, it would auto-update, but I cant seem to ever leave it there. This will be a nice upgrade... now if I would just use the dang thing.
I have to take a video of myself, on my Razr, which unless I hack the phone, I only get 15 seconds or so. Then send it via MMS and potentially incure a $0.35 charge (depending on what service I have), then the person Im sending it to has to log on to the internet to see it?! Why not just send it to their phone anyways?!
Because its not the 17 year olds who are getting hurt... its the 12 year olds and the 13 year olds who are potentially running into content that they shouldn't be seeing yet.
You need to remember, its not just the computers & servers. Its the lights, the heating/AC, all other power needs. We have a generator at my work and it has to power EVERYTHING. 100 desktops 34 thin clients, 19 laptops, 34 servers, the A/C for the data center, the elevator, the emergency lighting, fire detection system, phones... you get the idea. We have a 30 KVA battery backup for the data center in case the generator doesn't kick on the right way.

So it would be the largest commercially available product... and the warship would in essence be a government funded i-pod accessory, right?
I know its redundant, but Thank You!
This work is really cool and hopefully and good as it appears. This could completely revolutionize the AIDS fight...
Tiff sucks. Jpeg works almost universally.
Plays for Sure seems to fall faster and farther into the night.

Isn't this similar to America? IMO most people just dont care...

And this comes as a shock how?! Has anyone read the DMCA? That was proof positive.

what it looked like... was it a "#1" - or was it the bird? Or even better, was it a picture of a fox pissing on an "e"
This service isn't all that practical.
