    People are using google to find their way to sites like google.com and facebook.com. Using the searchbar to find a legal download of a album is not so far fetched.

    The periods don't get stripped out, but you can add them (and probably remove them) wherever you like and they'll still get sent to the correct account. If someone has the account abc@gmail.com, then no one can register another account called a.b.c@gmail.com because gmail views them as the same.

    Gmail silently ignores the periods in addresses, this means that these addresses all leads to the same mailbox.

    When I got mine, I thought the LCD would be useless, but it turns out to be the best part in practice.

    Same thing here.

    When I broke my G15 I figured I might as well satisfy my do-it-myself itch it and build a detachable miniature lcd display with some basic winamp/media controls.

    Just being able to see my mail inbox count or the last lines from PuTTy (perfect during long scripts) while having a fullscreen app running is wonderful.

    You need to start thinking like a Suit guy.

    Most of them seems to think they have a God given right to sell as many games as their marketing department projected, if they don't meet the projections then it s clearly due to Piracy and weak DRM.

    If we don't make sure to tell them why we are boycoting them then we will eventually end up with something like this.

    So they want you to report the fact that their licensing system is defective? Sounds to me like they already know.

    No, the forum mods most likely knows that this is a really stupid idea, unfortunately it is the suit guys (EA) that makes these decision so spamming the support center with complaints is likely the easiest way to let them know how you feel.

    A: You cannot play MEPC without an internet connection. MEPC must authenticate when it is initially run and every 10 days thereafter.

    We are refusing to use any non proprietary grammar due to unclear licensing.

    Since we can't determine the exact owner of that particular piece of grammatic it might be under license, if so we might become required to publish all of our works that uses that piece of grammatic.

    P.S This is pretty much my CEO's reason why the company I work in refuses to use open source softwares

    My attempts to point out that using OpenOffice does not mean we are required to publish all of our documents have so far been meet by anger and hostilities. At least I will be moving to another company soon but I still feel sorry for my work mates

    Was Luke really one of the most powerful Jedi? I don't think he even makes the top 50. For example, Palpatine or Yoda could have easily beaten him in a fight.

    Read the novels, Luke turns into Superman.

    Later on in the novels he recovers from wounds that is described as capable of killing a normal man in a matter of minutes, a few hours later he isn't even wounded. He even pulls a Jesus and walks on lava

    Hell, he even built his own Fortress of Solitude using the force and cloaks an entire planet from sensors, permanently. Just face it, he is Starwars Elminister

    If a game costs 50$ why the hell should there be ads in it? Who actually puts up with this enough to even make the idea look like something we would tolerate?
    Even better, if you dont pay a monthly fee you can only play a gimped character (smaller inventory etc.)

    So now we have to pay full price to buy it, pay each month AND get invasive ads?

    Hopefully Will Wright and the Sims will have taught EA that, sometimes, you just need to STFU and let groups with an awesome track record continue what they're doing.

    Ehh, Maxis is the only company that surpasses EA when I comes to milking franchises.

    EA probably bought Maxis so they could learn from the true master of shameless money milking.

    Even if they have not officially stated the SP1 will not be slipstreamable those quotes are starting the make me a bit worried. Luckily first paragraph might simply be badly worded and the second might be referring to free copies of a Vista SP1 dvd so we will just have to wait and see.

    the new laptop has 2GB of ram.. just sitting there with firefox open and sidebar running it hovers between 30% and 50%
    I had the same complaint the first times I used Vista x64 but then I noticed one thing, ram usage hardly increase when I was using playing games or had Adobe photoshop/Corel Painter X open. As far as I can tell Vista will take about 50% of the total available ram memory but it will start unloading things when it notices that other applications are running.

    As far as I have heard troops are obliged to refuse to carry out clearly illegal orders, I think that rule was created after Nuremberg trials
