...after the game, Toronto happily announced to the cameras that he's going to Toronto.
It is highly unlikely that anyone actually needs to proceed past a red light to let an emergency vehicle through.
Highly unlikely, but imagine a tight two lane road with curbs, traffic backed up on the other lane (to the intersection, with one dude with his rear in the intersection), only you at the traffic light. Ambulances will normally drive in the wrong lane to get past stopped traffic, but they can't here. Are you saying you wouldn't make a right on red after checking to see that it's safe to proceed (even if you were originally going straight)? You'd wait for the light to turn green while someone whose life might be measured in seconds needs that ambulance? The general rule is "get the hell out of the ambulance's way when it's safe to do so" otherwise you're being an antisocial prick.
I'm going to consider you a troll since you obviously read my post, including the part about stopped traffic. If the traffic is stopped, it's not much different than a right on red with no traffic.
And sirens and lights are on emergency vehicles for a reason: to make everyone stop at green traffic lights so the the vehicle can pass quickly through the intersection and reach the emergency. Moving out of the way of the emergency vehicle is the primary responsibility and the law should be updated so that driving through a red light to prevent forcing an emergency vehicle to wait (when the traffic has stopped) is not just legal, but required.
Liar. We have those people now. Employers are looking overseas for pliable slaves that they can threaten to deport for any grievance, even if they do subpar work.
Still, I had to completely empty my pockets including my ID and boarding pass; usually those are the two things I leave in my pockets. I don't know how that was a threat to national security.
Just to make sure you're not hiding a flint or ceramic razor in the boarding pass or ID. Of course you might be hiding one in your mouth. Didn't they check there?
I know all of this, you are preaching to the choir here. Blowing up planes is not a terrorists goal - their goal is causing terror however they can.
Not entirely. Their goals extend beyond the terror and into what they hope the terror will enact, whether it's Green Living (ELF), Spread of Islam or Death to America (terrorists du jour), or Printing Anti-Science Wackoism (unibomber). I doubt Al Qaeda saw the draconian TSA in the airports and said "Our mission is complete! The final goal of making Americans get felt up on a regular basis is a success!"
You have the same odds of being killed on an airplane by a terrorist as you do being killed by cancer from a body scanning device (1 in 30 million)
BEDIVERE: So, logically...,
VILLAGER #1: If... she.. has the same odds of being killed on an airplane by a terrorist as she does being killed by cancer from a body scanning device then she's made of wood
BEDIVERE: And therefore--?
VILLAGER #1: The TSA are Terrorists!
CROWD: Terrorists!
BEDIVERE: We shall use my largest millimeter wave scanner!
You know, persecution complexes can be solved via re-education. If there are too many people for normal avenues, camps of some sort might have to be made.
Presumably by everyone in the audience. I'm curious whether it was a rousing ovation or a polite "maybe if we golf-clap she'll go away happy", but either way, they didn't jeer at her for being a loon. They tacitly approved of her lunacy.
Well, no, he didn't. His orders led to the death of three "Americans" (I prefer US citizens), but couldn't you say the same about every president who has started a war where US soldiers have died? Why are these deaths particularly worse?
I'm not 100% caught up on current events, but wasn't one of the Americans explicitly targeted by the military, despite knowing that he was a US citizen? The proper course of action would have been capture and trial, not "kill on sight with hellfire missiles".
Not to mention how apparently killing thousands of innocent civilians is apparently OK, but three(!) US citizens is terrible? To me, the death of innocent people is equally wrong, regardless of their country of origin.
Noble sentiments, but they ignore thousands of years of tribalism. When the tribal leader starts throwing his own tribesmen into the volcano, you know something's wrong.
And you're going to pull on and off those expensive gloves while working with uncooked meat or other things in the kitchen? Touchscreens in the kitchen are as bad an idea as touchscreens in the bathroom or surgery room.
Confusingly yanks use the term "liberal" in a different way to the rest of the world. Liberalism in the rest of the world means small government, and "hands off".
In Australia the "Liberal Party" is actually conservative. The Labor Party are centre-right. And the Greens manage to be the only major left-wing party. But give them power and they'll get corrupted as well.
This is because the US founding fathers espoused Liberal (big L) beliefs, touting small government and personal freedoms. Therefore, US "conservatives" want a conservative reading of the founding documents (Constitution, federalist papers, et al) and a conservative application of laws and government (as little as necessary), while US "liberals" want a liberal reading of founding documents (allowing for things like abuse of the interstate commerce clause) and liberal application of government solutions (as much as the tax base can bear).
The rest of the former British Empire slowly changed from monarchy to democracy, so "conservative" to them means a return to autocracy, whereas "liberal" means personal freedom. It gets confusing discussing politics on the Internet as a result, so remember to use more than titles (R/D/Con/Lib).
Air superiority hasn't been in question because we made every effort to be superior. Once we lack superiority, you can bet someone else will be using their superior jets.
Instead of disinfecting/replacing a keyboard/mouse when they get salmonila or ecoli on them, you'll now be replacing your all in one touchscreen ( you can't disinfect them, only certain mild cleaners are allowed).
And if your competitor does business with that someone, they'd be called "nigger lovers" and run out of business, with everyone from the mayor and the sheriff down to the local Jaycees
Mayor and Sheriff? Sounds like you're not talking about the free market, but are instead talking about government institutionalized racism.
I can only imagine what freedoms you'll be wanting to relinquish once they start detonating bombs in the security line at the terminals.
Nevermind that. The the AC will want to give up even more freedoms when terrorists start thinking about detonating bombs in a pre-security line anywhere.
"the only possible application" regarding Russia and China. Unfortunately, NK and Iran are led by nutcases who would be okay with starting WWIII. Mutually assured destruction doesn't deter nutcases.
No one thinks that playboy.com is a malware site, but malware authors would rather use the promise of free porn on example.com or via an executable from a torrent than set up a religious site.

But PHBs only care about productivity. Morale, skills, etc only matter to them if it increases productivity.
The next steps are forced purchasing (via taxes), then forced watching of the content (it's edutainment!).
Has nothing to do with the italian grinder you went to bed on
How does dating an Italian woman equate to getting fat? Not all of them cook well!

I would be grabbing cover and running
That's you. The citizens of Texas have bigger egos.
And if your competitor does business with that someone, they'd be called "nigger lovers" and run out of business, with everyone from the mayor and the sheriff down to the local Jaycees
Mayor and Sheriff? Sounds like you're not talking about the free market, but are instead talking about government institutionalized racism.
A truly free market would stop that kind of discrimination faster than all the civil rights legislation ever proposed.
Ask yourself this: if that were true, then back when business were free to discriminate why was the legislation proposed?
IIRC, businesses weren't free to discriminate. They were required to discriminate via Jim Crow Laws.
