But it's not a rating board's job to worry about such things, and if a game should be banned or effectively banned because it may or may not cause a tiny segment of the population to flip out, why aren't all violent games banned?

By the same logic violent movies, aggressive music and alcohol should be banned too.

Did you even read the article? They weren't playing PvP, and it is pretty fucking weird and creepy when you're 38 and your group leader turns out to be 11 when you're voice chatting. And if he simply didn't want to feel like a newbie, then how does age factor into this? He wouldn't have even started playing the game in the first place.

I wouldn't want to voice chat with a 11 year old either. I never ask where people are from, what their gender is or how old they are. I don't want to know.

One of their arguments againts the game is completely absurd (source):

Against this background, the Board's carefully considered view is that to issue a certificate to Manhunt 2, on either platform, would involve a range of unjustifiable harm risks, to both adults and minors, within the terms of the Video Recordings Act, and accordingly that its availability, even if statutorily confined to adults, would be unacceptable to the public.

If Manhunt 2 is banned because it it's harmful to adults, then clearly violent movies should be banned too, not to mention alcohol. If they are unwilling to ban violent movies and alcohol, then the argument that Manhunt 2 should be banned because it's harmful is completely null and void.

Minors can't legally buy the game, so they shouldn't even be a factor in the decision. If parents can't control what their kids are doing, how is that the BBFC's problem? I also like the way they decide what they think "the public" finds or doesn't find unacceptable.

The US can't win. No military force can. They're no longer fighting a war, they're trying to police and reconstruct a country, and they're dealing with an infinite stream of terrorists who will keep coming for decades if necessary. On top of that, there's the Sunni-Shia war and various Islamic militias who will fight anything and anyone deemed un-Islamic.

There's simply no way to "win." The Iraq War itself was a cakewalk, the US military taking over the country with ridiculous ease. In military terms the US can't be defeated (in Iraq), but you can't "win" in Iraq through military means.

Muslims riot and murder while threatening to behead everyone at the slightest, most trivial provocation, whereas Christians do not. The Ecce Homo exhibition in Sweden did not provoke any violent reactions, despite being displayed in churches. If you did the same in a mosque (not that you'd ever get permission), you'd be killed.
