Dammit Microsoft! You're making it harder and harder to pirate your damn OS. Why do you isolate your users like this?!?!? I'm fed up! You've been reducing the capability to pirate since XP came out, and i'm damn tired of it!!!!! If you keep this sh*t up, we might just move to linux, or worse, Mac OS
Look, Comcast is just being pissy because they dont want to put in new lines. End of story. In my area (as with MANY others) cable companies are bought out all the time. Comcast bought Adelphia, who had bought GE Communications probably 5 years before that. Comcast KNOWS that if it puts the money into upgrading its capacity, it will bankrupt, and some new, fancy cable company will come in, but its newly installed lines for pennies on the dollar, and take over. Problem solved for 5 years.
I don't care for Verizon personally, but they're doing the right stuff with this FiOS. They're laying down fresh fiber to eventually replace their old copper lines. The interwebz aren't getting any smaller, so this is the way all ISPs will have to go sooner or later (without some miracle in wireless tech).
Furthermore, I am paying for an unlimited service. Thats what its called and advertised as, unlimited. Well, fucking with my speeds and sending fake reset packets, well, that seems like a limit to me, doesn't it?
I envy you people that CAN bitch about other sucky ISPs, because Comcast is the only one I'll ever be able to bitch about here.
How is this supposed to work anyway? Don't you need molecules to produce a frequency? like, we have 900 mhz waves for our cell phones on earth, which use air molecules that vibrate at these frequencies. On the moon, there is no atmosphere, so traditional cell tech wouldn't work
Is this correct or am i just talking out of my ass (which i might be)?
obviously you aren't a comcast subscriber then. I've been dealing with this shit for about a year now.
Comcast sends fake packets to both the sending and receiving end of the transmission telling the programs that the other end has closed transmission. AKA, my upload speeds are virtually 0. well, when you don't upload, you can't download as fast. I'd love to host a torrent for a while to help keep the torrent network alive, but how can i do that if my upload ability is non-existant.
Next, my web surfing is severely limited when downloading torrents now. It takes a few minutes to load my email while DLing a torrent, no matter what the speed. Hell, it doesn't matter whether I download and surf on the same computer or not, the speed is still shit. I didn't have this problem before when i had adelphia (which comcast bought out).
I pay for UNLIMITED service. Unlimited means that there shall be no limits. Either give me that, or charge me less.
The funny thing is, the day that the FCC or whoever said they were going to investigate comcast's throttling, they had stopped. It soon resumed, but they stopped for a few days.
Would 20/20 show you a sting operation that, i don't know, wasn't a 45 yr old male? Ratings only. You have to wonder how many 16 yr old boys they have to set up before they get a "real predator"
36% admitted to meeting strangers?? Risky Business? I call bull
When they say stranger, they mean...ANYONE THE KID HASNT MET BEFORE.
Damn media blows the whole "online predator" shit way out of proportion. The same kids that meet 45 yr old men are the same ones that would get into a van because the guy offered them candy.
Protect the children my ass. Just makes politicians look good
Still, the spacecraft is also expected to throw back some never-before -seen images, NASA said. No, its going to throw back images we've already seen...
IF the schools and such are granted these extensions and Sprint has to pay big bucks to license the spectrum, who in the end pays for it? In the end we're the ones that get screwed
What do the broadcasters have against this proposal REALLY. They don't honestly think that this will cause interference. What is really in it for them for opposing this? Working with the Telcos now?
This brings up a question. Is a store legally allowed to make you show your receipt or look through your bags? I mean, once you buy an item, it is yours and is officially your property, isn't it? If stores can look through a shopping bag does that mean that stores can look into personal bags, and even search your pockets and such?
Sue the sky for raining on your land.
Sue the sun for radiating light to your land.
Sue the wind for distributing polluted air to your land
Sue EVERYTHING that creates sound waves that travel onto your property!
These days, all people want to do is take other people's money
I'm sorry, but this kinda shit will not cut it in the real world (or at least the rural world). I live in a small town that apparently can't get DSL, but thankfully i can get high speed from Comcast (wait, why did I say thankfully?) These services sound nifty and all, but hell, I mean it took 20 years to get cable to my neighborhood, and some of my neighbors still don't have it. Unless AT&T/Verizon/Quest are going to pipe Fibre to RURAL communities, well over half the population will miss out.
As stated many times above, it all comes down to making money
Can you imagine the cease and desist letter from the MPAA?
"We demand that all AACS keys are removed from all PLAYGROUND BALLS immediately and no legal action will follow"
Masatami Takimoto, has said cost cutting on the electric motor, battery and inverter were all showing positive results in reducing the costs of hybrid technology
One would assume that if the cost of parts went down, the overall cost would go down...

You have to remember, That for every 1 person that is "above average", there is one person "below average" (assuming a normal distribution)
Basically.

Yes, except they didn't have the problem of fibre-optics cables getting cut...
if only we stuck with that "series of tubes"...

What about Double Jeopardy. It seems that the lower courts let him off, how was he charged again?? Can't be real
I can't get a reliable weather forecast, how the hell do they expect to follow climate change to determine disease outbreak?

Its too bad, we could have used this when the Pentium 4 Prescott came out...
Technically, He didn't ask a question...
YOU'RE LUCKY THATS ALL! I've heard Gentoo can cause the computer to explode! You should put Windows back on there before the motherboard melts

This should take care of the "Enormous amounts of material" the great Ted Stevens warned us about.

Firefox is a widely used browser and is the biggest competition to IE. No offense to opera, but its not as strong or as popular as firefox.
