The corporations are already starting to abuse the very tools you're creating to "combat hate speech". Soon enough complaining about your iphone exploding on your face ion the internet will be "hate speech against apple", and every punishment you created for "people that said hateful things on the internet" will be used against you.
Also removing actual terrorist things from the internet is just sweeping the problem under the carpet and removing the possibility of infiltrating in such groups.
And what you would to do with the so called white trash? You can't send em back to africa, and they're just as bad due the whole "being poor and uneducated" thing going on.
As any system, you do need to come up with systems to deal with the weaknesses of it. Also not having a government mandated monopoly system like patents quite help a bit, at least not how it is implemented currently, where you can pull a intel and use it to block any sort of competition with a massive warchest, or where you don't even need to actually manufacture anything.
Now the fixes for the weaknesses of socialism/communism are quite more drastic.
How can you make this even worse? Epoxying the whole thing? An encryption that have the decryptor program stored on a ram chip on the battery that wipes itself out when you try to open the device?
Even with VGA, consoles still had some advantages over the PC hardware. The ISA bus heavily limited the fill rate of the video cards, making going over 40 FPS on a PC pretty much impossible, thus not as good as consoles for 2D platformers or fighting games. But when the pentium (and it's PCI bus) came, PC surpassed consoles in everything and never actually got surpassed again.
You see, there won't be a year of the linux desktop because the linux powered terminators, commanded by the linux powered skynet that also commands the linux powered drones and linux powered war tanks will all use windows on their desktop machines.
I think a factor that might have influenced is a certain mindset of the left leaning individuals, specially the one with cash of "why lose my time engaging with a right wing and trying to convince him if i can just engage with someone that can ban him and all his friends?". I sadly seem this statement being said over and over and over again.
The ME have nothing to do with the microcode, it's a separate CPU embedded in the CPU that have no relationship and don't actually perform anything related to the main CPU, and it's only present on the newer Core Ix series. It was also available on the Core 2 computers, but was embedded on the motherboard rather than CPU. And it's a separate CPU with its own proprietary hidden ROM that can't be audited and can access your network, memory, disk etc..
