Look on the bright side... Can't think of one right now, but i'm sure someone thinks there is one...
How can these laws pass at all?
So, is it a matter of time before they pass a law against some religion, and invade alternative of Poland? Oh wait, the invasion happened already. Nevermind...
Well, Yale should explain that, not me. Look up illiterate in the dictionary. The meaning of the word, beyond the ones you are implying are showing lack of culture, esp. in language and literature and also Marked by inferiority to an expected standard of familiarity with language and literature. My statement was correct, there was just misunderstanding on your part of the word illiterate.
I feel like I'm bent over, my pants are down, and the illiterate president is hard at work behind me. Considering the statement "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it" and the quality of education in US public schools, I get the feeling of inevitability. Peak of cold war jumps to mind, except now instead of communism, it's called terrorism.
Are we doomed? Is slavery at hand? Unless people would stop choosing their leaders based on their tie quality, we will all suffer.
FTA: If 830--or any record--happens as a result of... the pursuit of a good time, should it count? Or should records be reserved for those who have earned the right to set them, and who set them in expert fashion?
What kind of argument is that?
Should we award the fastest 100-m runner, or should we only award people that run really fast to work?
He studied mercilessly words starting with F and Q, and that's where today's advantage is created - by focusing on a certain area. If every single one of us would study everything and did all sports, we would be poor at everything.
No you don't. Most CATALYST HW are ASIC accelerated.
Just try opening up C3750 or C2960 and see for yourself (don't worry, it won't void your warranty... unless someone don't trust you and put a seal)
I live in Czech Republic, where couple of years ago the country experienced the worst floods ever, and even the capital city was flooded.
We knew about the flood, we knew about it's magnitude. There was just nothing we could do about it. Dam management worked their butts off, but dams could not hold the water and it poured OVER the dams.
It's not like you're can build 50ft wall around the river in the heart of the capital city, just so once in your lifetime it would be used. Shoure it would be the solution, but the cost and inconvinience would be worse than cleaning up the mess
And then you have the subway, which was flooded too. There are doors that are supposed to hold the water and not let it spread to all the tunnels, but they just didn't. I'm not sure who's fault was that, but i imagine it would be pretty hard to leak-proof the wall, that is supposed to automatically close inside the subway, while you have no water to test it with. An then there were villages that sunk completely. Their only solution would be to build a wall around a village.
Rivers spread far and wide, transforming into huge lakes that are omnipresent.
Cisco derives it's power in HW mostly because of it's ASICs, so until somebody is able to counterfeit that, it's not that big of a deal.
Besides, how come the issue was not resolved? How about standard warranties? Did he loose the signed delivery protocol that listed all the WICs an their S/Ns? The article is vague about that
To put it in Edison's words: Realization is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration. A lot of people have some very good ideas. Just yesterday my friend was telling me how pre university schools are useless at telling people who they are and presented me detailed plan how the system could be revamped. It was great and all, but so what? There are bunch of school that offer different programs than standardized school, there are just not so omnipresent.
The point is, if you do not go out of your way to implement your idea, it is left at just that - a thought.

How about oppression of the minority? Media create too much false information these days, so instead of rationally based decisions, the result will be what media wants, not what people want.
I'm not talking about issues people understand about. I just see my parents, and their uninterest in games - the only information they ever get about games are game violence reports from TV and other news sources. How can those people make correct decisions?
Hey! Their words are enough for me. Off to McDonalds to tripple my Big Mac input, and then drink myself stupid when this product comes out, all while lying on the couch. It's one can of the drink for every Big Mac I eat to balance calories out.
The humbling -- and perversely comforting -- reality is that the Earth will forget us remarkably quickly.
Unrealistic speculation. In a couple of thousand years, we will damage it beyond all recognition. Ofcourse it will recover (hey, it was stardust once). But "recovery" word itself would not be applicable. It would be more of recreation.
Our development bring the consuption up. I don't like the whole idea going out of my way, just to save a few watts here and there.
Develop useful products, which are more energy friendly, and switch to the most environment-friendly energy today (nuclear), until even more environment-friendly energy is economically viable.
But do not tell me, that i have to waste my time waiting for my system to boot, sit at home in the dark, or otherwise endure great uncomfort, to save energy. The technology is part of life. How would you feel, if i'd tell you to wait 3 minutes every time you decided to breathe in?
It's not that using up energy is bad. It's just that we are provided with BAD ENERGY.
I thought a lot of people watched DVD movies on their home entertainment systems - a lot of which are based on PCs (Windows Media Center/Linux). Or what about people with just big monitor?
So now i cannot watch this new Hollywood-DVD that I'd buy on my home entertainment system?
"I regret that some of the stock option problems identified by the Special Committee occurred on my watch," Well, regretting won't fix the problem, and neither will his ousting.
So, what about all those already frozen folks? "Sorry, we will never find on how to unfreeze you, suspended animation is done using completely new method.":)
I guess anybody who wants to be suspended and reanimated in the future will have to visit the gas chamber.
No matter how good the initial intentions, if your primary purpose is to make money, the intentions will be corrupted.

I guess I was wrong...

From the letter:
A variety of different standards must be maintained so as to provide for most efficient and workable solution
Lobby morons should learn what standard means. If we have many different standards (Like HTML/MS-HTML, or Java/MSJava) it is not a standard anymore.
Yes. Yes you can.
It's not my problem that you are so ignorant. You've watched too much TV. You don't know WHY you are afraid of it.
