First of all, I've seen this site at least 6 months ago. If I knew/. was accepting such lame contributions, I'd have put in the link.
Second, it can't work for sites with high content like eBay and Amazon. If this site which demonstrates simple hovering procedure takes such a long time to load what will happen with Amazon.com? Also, the problem of NOT having to click on the items I don't want to see/buy is going to result in a bad user experience especially when the items are grouped together in small areas. A simple mistake with the mouse and I'd have put a dozen items in my shopping cart. Imagine the frustration of having to navigate the mouse between the 'alleys' of all the items on the screen...
Google's policy has typically been to not intervene and let the algorithms work by themselves, but could this change if Google-bombing becomes a common tactic?
Google has always maintained a policy of 'Do no evil'. Does this mean that they won't do any evil but will allow others to use their systems to their own benefit?
That led archaeologists to the three tombs, one of which included an inscription warning that anyone who violated the sanctity of the grave would be eaten by a crocodile and a snake...
From the CPSC website:
Incidents/Injuries: Lenovo has received one confirmed report of a battery overheating and causing a fire that damaged the notebook computer. The incident, which occurred within an airport terminal as the user was boarding an airplane, caused enough smoking and sparking that a fire extinguisher was used to put it out. There was minor property damage and no injuries were reported.
I recently tried the free version of VMWare on Windows XP. Their documentation is horrible and it definitely looks like they want people to buy it than use the free version. I tried loading all version of Linux from Red Hat Linux to Ubuntu all of which failed at some point.
Frustrated, I've given up...
For an invitation to wallop you have to write to them saying why you should get invited. I've had such a hard time writing a Statement of Purpose to my university. Arrrgh...
Anyways, Microsoft's just going to get Walloped. Anybody who's an anybody is on MySpace/Facebook/Orkut.
The lawsuit reads: Plaintiffs were damaged because of the degaradation of their computers caused by Microsoft's products which included problems such as drained memory, decreased speed, and an increased incidence of security breaches and bugs
Don't ya'll see the nexus? The "big business" president has done just one more thing to fatten the wallets of corporations.
"Cutting $2 million in library services in an EPA budget totaling nearly $8 billion is the epitome of a penny wise-pound foolish economy." - You got to be kidding me!
At least such a thing gets reported in this country. Any other third world country, the politicians would have done it and this would not even be news....
Quote from the same: In an even more stunning reversal, Microsoft has invited the open source community for a sit-down to drink grappa and mangiare some cannoli. You know that scene in mob films where the godfather invites all his rivals for a meeting, excuses himself to go to the loo, and guys with submachine guns show up? My advice to open sourcers: If Ballmer leaves the room, get ready to dive under the table.
Quote from the same: "If the ACLU ever wants money, it should contact the Al Qaeda fundraisers. No organization in America enables terrorism as much as the ACLU, period. It is putting your life in danger. And that is no exaggeration."
"I have to pick on the ACLU because they're the most dangerous organization in the United States of America right now. There's by far. There's nobody even close to that. They're, like, second next to Al Qaeda." (2 June 2004)
"Hitler would be a card-carrying ACLU member. So would Stalin. Castro probably is. And so would Mao Zedong." (19 January 2005)
I'm dying to hear what the conservative side (FOX News) has to say about this. I want the see the look on Bill O'Reilly now and how he's going to slander the ACLU and The New York Times on the next Factor show.
Of course, you do realize that if NSA contests this judgement in the U.S. Supreme Court, Mr. Bush has his men there.
Well, this was all last moment when I found out I had to travel without my laptop. Yet, I managed to bubble wrap the laptop, put it in my laptop case, lock that, put the laptop case in a bigger suitcase cushioned between clothes and the lock that too...
I just came back from India last week and had to put my company laptop along with the check-in luggage. I don't mind anything happening to the laptop (in terms of damage) but my life would have been hell if it got lost as it contained company confidential data including client databases.

I've never been so worried in my life. Thankfully, it came safe.

Radioactive? If someone sets off a radioactive bomb, that's one PO'd customer. Paypal'd rather shut down its operations!!
