yeah, that part of my problem with it, and I'm having the same issue with the new halo trailer even in HD. The constant cutting makes it hard to tell what it actually feels like in some parts of it.
Think of it this way, you can do some of the general geometry and get the basics of the scene. Then you take it from the cell and send it to the RSX and let the RSX do the lighting and application of shaders and what not.
I'm talking from memory and I may not be saying that right but its the general Idea.
So removing hardware only used for playing PS2 games is going to somehow reduce performance on games that don't even use the aforementioned hardware?
Doesn't your question basically ask "Are they going to defeat the point of a console by removing the idea of one performance standard in game? At least a performance standard that can't be change by the user in a cheap fashion.
Actually it can be used for many things, you can do some of the more general stuff in the cell then toss it onto the RSX for the actual rendering. Its actually pretty damned neat what they can do with that thing.
I'm still not willing to take that as the actual graphics till I see someone playing it on a box attached to a HiDef Screen. Trailers, even ones with "gameplay" footage can be very misleading.
Still as an xbox owner I am rather impressed, and competition between the companies is a good thing.
Actually water toxicity is a ton of things. You can basically dilute your blood and create an extreme electrolyte imbalance and can even have brain swelling in extreme cases.
The funny thing is, I know plenty of people with working launch boxes, but I know plenty of people with boxes bought during the summer of 06 that are breaking frequently. Considering that they have issues with chips popping off boards and bricking the systems it makes me wonder if these issues are caused by removing the usage of lead in solder to comply with RoHS and bad planning. The company I work for is having major issues with chips popping of BGA connectors because the silver solder is so brittle. We didn't have the issue with lead because it can handle the flexing.
Just because a hardware revision introduces cheaper components doesn't mean they are lower quality, just as expense doesn't imply quality. They could have come up with a design that is more reliable and cheaper to make. Improvements could have been made to current parts that make them cheaper. It happens in every console generation. Also as stated above, Im not convinced tis a component failure as much as it is a connection failure. Partly because they manage to send out old boards so often. The problem can't be that extreme for them to be able to reuse old boards. If Im right and it is something as simple as they don't have a good solder then who knows how long it could take.
What? You don't reduce the performance of a console? I'm, sorry but that is really the most asinine thing I have ever seen someone say.
All they are doing is going with a smaller manufacturing process and refining the hardware. What in gods name makes you think that they will defeat the whole purpose of the whole console paradigm.
1 performance standard for cheaper dev and less confusion for customers.
Yeah, but as much as I love my 360(and the fact it hasn't broken on me since i got it at launch), and despite the fact I will not purchase sony products.
The xbox360 has to many issues to justify its purchase, MS is already looking for ways to avoid the warranty, and frankly sony now has a chance to rub this in their faces...
I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I went to a charter highschool and had a double block of morning chemistry featuring periodic table, stoichiometry, valence. The best part was I figured out how iron oxide and aluminum would react before i even knew what thermite was. Then he showed us it in class.
Maybe you should read the news again. His sentence was COMMUTED. He still has the conviction his record. So he is rather unemployable right now. Not that its going to bother him one bit.
Don't worry though, he will get his PARDON when everyone else gets theirs.
Because a pair of goggles and the retarded vision of what is "Virtual Reality" would make anyone question its ability to make money.
We need to drop the idea of the goggles and think much smaller, lighter.... and less nerdtastic.
If thats the ending you choose.
Um we still have them. My dad works for IBM and helps people get switched over to them.

I've always been under the Impression that Java can't use hardware rendering, wouldn't that restrict usage for more intense applications?
Interesting, but as I said I will remain skeptical till I see it played on a HiDef Screen in person.

Burnt plastic?
Interaction maybe? I loaded up one of my massive metropolises into it though and fought a ton of fires.
Simcopter streets of sim city.
BF 2142?

Sorry, I guess I just assumed that most people here understand the entire point of the "console".
Pardon me for assuming that most computer inclined people would understand the basic concept of chip manufacture processes.

The 360 could be in deep shit right now.
All the Belgian wow players are going to be pissed.

Sooo.... I should just use the free resource at hand called the internet right? Goodness knows, saftey is the first priority then.

You insensitive clod, I had to have my work ethic removed.
That doesn't happen till after the elections buddy.
