It's already got that feature - just run the normal update process, and when it finishes and pops up that box asking if you want to restart now or later, after a few minutes it'll restart itself without warning.
That's the problem with linux distros and has always been a problem. Too much choice and not very much consistency with apps installed by default and their GUIs.
And since Disney's business revolves around stealing out-of-copyright works created by others and shitting "®" signs all over them before pass them off as their own, the pool of public domain works is also slowly shrinking.

Ugh. I heard him on the radio once spreading propagandist bullshit about how there's a bunch of rich bastards like him at risk of living in poverty because they sang something 50 years ago. People like that deserve to expire before their cash cow copyrights.
Y'know, I rarely see any of these "freetard lunatics" you're rambling about. Maybe it's because I don't use BSD? I did look at the OpenBSD mailing lists once though and wow, those were something else entirely...
You may as well say that you wonder why they aren't required to take classes in auto repair or biochemisty.
I don't know where you come from, but in my school basic computer literacy was _slightly_ more likely to be used in a classroom than the ability to replace a spare tyre or administer local anasthetic...
With the way things are going toward optical transistors, holographic storage, optical fibre networking, maybe in a few years we'll be replacing the power supply with a lightbulb...
It demonstrates that the RIAA doesn't care about reimbursement, they do this for some sort of sadistic amusement. What other reason would they sue someone for when they know the victim will never be able to pay up?
That's the biggest WHOOSH I've ever seen on Slashdot.
Wouldn't it be simpler (and cheaper) to just install voice recognition software on the cell phone?

That's because they can't produce them fast enough to keep up with demand.

Naturally you can always comment "Why use a Mac in the first place when you could have a linux desktop?"
Why not both at the same time?
I don't get it... are you genuinely that clueless, or just retarded?

Just for completeness...
(although I blame Gentoo for there being so many python scripts there)
If that data is so important, it shouldn't be stored in the clear in the first place. Trying to cover things up after the fact is not security.

It is never upgraded
Well when you're used to an OS that needs reformatting every six months to get it back to a usable speed, I can see why that might be an issue.
Sometimes they "leak through" to normal users for whatever reason.

After I realised that, the only thing stopping me from dumping Windows completely was a winmodem... which didn't last long after that.
The European (and everywhere _but_ America's) definition of thousand million is giga-.

Basically, live like a lumberjack (that's okay).
Sleep all night and work all day? Hell no!
People who interpret everything they read literally are functionally illiterate.
Presumably using the same methods they use to find the names of dead people and people who don't own a computer?
Or to put it in a way you might understand:
"This kitten can't afford its medical bills, but who cares? I'm going to kill it with the other 19 anyway!"
