alot of money to be made in the buying/trading/selling of carbon emissions.
And then you begin to realize that it would be virtually impossible for the United States to reduce carbon emissions to the levels that Kyoto demands. But wait, the United States can BUY points so that they are in compliance.
So let me get this straight, you want the United States to sign a treaty that would require them to buy "points" from other countries just so they can be in compliance with it?
Reducing carbon emissions is a good idea, using it as the basis for an international extortion agreement is offensive.

At least with Linux I have access to the source code, and can hire programmers to scratch my itches for me. Somehow, I don't think microsoft would give out source code if they went under.
the only safe way to move data is removable media, mounted noexec. SCSI racks/DAT tapes (in the old days) or FireWire drives.
Even removable media can carry a virus back to the secure network. Which means you better be damned sure that the drive was wiped clean before it goes back.
The safest way to move data is to print it out, and hand type it back in at the other location.
Have you tried Network Solutions, or Dotster? I use both (NetSol at work, Dotster at home), and am quite satisfied with both. If you have tried them, what were your impressions?
I envision a commercial where a Linux pengiun is running from a bunch of long-hair hippies in business suits. The pengiun escapes into a building and throws a sledgehammer at a screen showing a big Apple logo.
Well, you might be glad to know that when the crimes are as related as these are, the sentences are usually served concurrently. So the 15 years being talked about may be 1 yr times 15 counts, which served concurrently would only mean 12 months in prison.
If you ask me, any jail time whatsoever is uncalled for. Other forms of correction can be found where the ends are met without the ruining of an otherwise promising future.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this. But there is a product for the Playstation 2 called Gameshark Media Player which allows you to connect to a PC server (running windows or linux) and stream video, music, or even pictures to your television.
I've only played with it a little bit, but so far it seems to be very usable.

All you need is one floppy disk, or one hard copy.
But then again it happened to CB's, which never recovered and turned out to be a fad.
You don't consider the popularity of FRS and GMRS radios as being the CB's second coming?

There is a major problem with people swapping tape cartridges full of programs. Somebody needs to fight these pirates.
