This is big vs. small business. No one ever takes small businesses into account when doing national statistics. But your bread-and-butter money laundering scheme in this country is your typical empty mom and pop restaurant.

Exactly. Most people just hate the incessant nagging that goes on with these "Personal Appeal" behemoth banners that have nothing to do with an appeal. Be straightforward and forthcoming, and just ask for the money.

As commonplace as Wikipedia has become, I think that the Web could use less of it. I am tired of seeing the Wikipedia article as the first result on every search. This isn't good for the diversity of information sources in general if everyone is reading from one source and few have a motivating factor to create independent pages or sites on the topics anymore.

    More than just that.

Special effects no longer impressed viewers when they became effects.

Special effects has been a misnomer since the early 90s and a COMPLETE misnomer since the mid-90s when all of this cutesy CGI garbage came into play. Interesting how CGI looked fake then and continues to look fake. You'd think that they would have had that nailed down by now!

Our sun gives off a stream of charged particles that form a bubble known as the heliosphere around our solar system. The solar wind travels at supersonic speed until it crosses a shockwave called the termination shock. At this point, the solar wind dramatically slows down and heats up in the heliosheath.

Would anyone care to explain what supersonic speed means in this context?

    It's not a fiber. It's a series of tubes.....

In Japan, it might as well be a MAN. You have densely-packed cities, a small land area, and a fairly homogeneous, tech-savvy society that takes the mandates for the latest and greatest technologies regardless of whether they are practical there or feasible elsewhere. Practical or feasible in the US? Not really, 1mbps is plenty BROADBAND for me. I have something like 15mbps, but that's 15 times excessive for what I need.

Not to justify the Bells for stealing fiber infrastructure upgrade subsidies ten or so years ago in the States (Hello, Congress???), but FTTH at faster rates than my LAN is pointless when existing media are already pushing excessive speeds.

At 15mbps, I an stream HD videos and download porn torrents while maintaining a 10ms ping on my favorite Crysis server all day long.
